Say "privjet" to the first Russian Pocket PC
http://www.handy.ru/read/review/rover_pc.html
Vovan, and many more Russian friends, sent word about the first Pocket PC localized in Russian. The link takes you to a Russian review, by handy.ru, of the Rover PC 6, which is built on top of Palmax PD-600C / UR There @migo 600C hardware. As far as I understand, the localization is done in ROM by a third party, ie someone else than Microsoft.
The Russian economy is growing. I hope this marks the beginning of a successful Pocket PC launch in Russia, a market with great potential. Good luck!

PCMCIA slot!
The most interesting thing about Rover is that it has a full PCMCIA slot. Now you can drain your batteries even faster!

The buttons!
Oh my! Look at that button layout! It's perfect! All this time, I was thinking that Microsoft had mandated the center position for the d-pad. Is it possible that all of those companies were just copying the iPAQ because of its success? Egh.

Yes, they're all copying the iPAQ - Microsoft doesn't force the OEMs to use the D-pad in the middle...

So should we still call it the Amigo or should we call it the "Tovarisch?"

I thought I heard that the @migo had button problems of its own (not allowing multiple buttons presses). Is this true?

Don't know for button presses, but I know about serious power related problems.
