Default More FTP On Your Pocket PC

http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=311&platformId=2&productType=2&catalog=0&sectionId=0&productId=32204

One of the things that I've always wanted to have on with my Pocket PC is greater FTP functionality. Well, GV Software has announced a new file manager with built-in FTP features, GV Commander.

General file management features are included, but it's the FTP functionality that's most interesting:

Cut, copy, paste, delete, create folders, view file properties
Time-conditional copying and other features supported
Multiple file selection from more than one directory at once
Mix download and upload in a single cut-copy-paste transaction
Internal caching, creating speed increase with slow connections
Supports password memory, anonymous logins, basic password encryption
Automatic login to default FTP server/account
 In-application dial-up support
 View estimated remaining upload/download time

I haven't had a chance to use this, but the affiliate link above offers a free trial download that I'm going try. If this is as good as it sounds, I'll be one step closer to doing all of my posting for this site with my Pocket PC from a recliner in my back yard!

I seem to recall that the ftp libraries in PPC2002 had a problem in which they only supported anonymous login. Am I imagining things, and does this get around it if not.

I've been using FtpView for about a year and a half, first on an E-115, then on several EG-800s, and now, today, on my iPAQ 3835. I even tried it on an E-100, one I was selling for a friend. Works great, and for simplicity it can't be beat. Want to upload a file? Connect to your ISP, double-tap (or use the connection dialogue) a site shortcut, wait a few seconds for the connection to establish, then use the two window tree view to browse to the folder you'd like to place the file within. Or make a new folder. Then browse to the file on your device, drag&drop it to the folder in the web folder, and watch the progress indicator bar for a bit.
I've found uploads to be very quick with my CF modem, and frequently share large (2MB+) files with a couple of friends. I built my webstie from my PPC, HTML, images (Casio CF camera), and all. The only serious limitation, and one which Kenny Goers has long promised he would get around to mending, is lack of folder support. It would be sweet to be able to upload a whole site or subfolder with a single drag&drop...
Here's a peek at the UI:

It has always been free, and is available here:

Yeah, that's a Pocket Internet Explorer bug - external FTP clients are not affected by this bug.
