Computex - never heard of this show. Anyone attend have any scoops for us? I think we need a correspondent someplace in the far east...
"Taiwanese electronics makers are highlighting their push into the handheld device market with a raft of new PDAs (personal digital assistants) and Pocket PCs at the Computex Taipei. Acer launched its first Pocket PC, the Acer n20, powered by Intels PXA250 microprocessor and equipped with a 3.8-inch active-matrix TFT LCD screen. The device, weighing only 180 grams and measuring 12.9mm thick, has a rechargeable battery for six to eight hours use. It also has a built-in Memory Stick slot.
Acers in-house team designed the n20s case while notebook contract maker Compal Electronics handled the whole-body design and manufactures the device. The newer n20w version, which features built-in wireless Wi-Fi networking, a longer battery life of 12-15 hours (without using Wi-Fi) and other advanced functions, is scheduled to hit the market in August. Acer said it expects to ship 200,000 PDAs this year." Source: Chris Coulter
