Intel Xscale is delayed to July
http://www.mobil.nu/nyheter/visa.asp?id=5129&sid=1
Intel's new processor for mobile devices is delayed according to the Swedish mobile devices magazine, Mobil. The processor was supposed to be on the market already, but PDA makers tests show it doesn't do the job fast and efficiently (power) enough. Intel says, according to the original Mobil-article, that they will address the issues and release the processor in July.
I guess all PDA markers, regardless of operating system, suffer from this. The Fujitsu-Siemens Pocket Loox should already have been released. It now faces a significant delay. (Thanks to Timmy Ljung for the link!)

Andy,
I'm not convinced that this is 'new' news. Back in April I reported on my Loox site about a delay in the release date of the Pocket Loox to the end of July because (and here I quote Fujitsu-Siemens):
Quote:
The [current?] power management and the processor performance of the Pocket LOOX did not meet our requirements.

I think perhaps this article in Mobil is simply a case of the news of Intel processor problems making it out into the wider press (or finally being officially announced by Intel!). Processor released in July - Loox released in July - all fits together perfectly!

Thanks, Duncan!
I had my suspicions, and first thought about adding a "disclaimer" to my post, since I couldn't find anything about it on other sites. I do hope you are right, and that the article is "outdated".
Perhaps, anyone else can help us out in "dating" this info and provide more details?

Thanks to the sterling efforts of Magnus Erlandsson there is now a translation of the article on my site ( www.firstloox.org ). I believe the article shows that there is, indeed, nothing new here - just the general press catching up with the rest of us!
