X-Ranger previewed
http://www.pdabuyersguide.com/games/xranger.htm
Wondering what Jimmy Software has been up to? Wonder no more - X-Ranger is coming, and man does it look good! I saw some screen shot print outs at CeBIT where I had the pleasure of meeting Panutat "Jimmy" Tejasen, and they looked great - this game looks like it will be excellent.

"For a moment there, I thought I was playing Aliens on my PS2. X-Ranger (beta version) looks so good that you'll forget you're playing this game on a handheld. Developed by Jimmy Software, X-Ranger is a first person shooter scheduled for release in June 2002. The game was created using real time 3D rendering, so that you can see the monster running or flying or shooting at you in 3D. The graphics, including menu screens, moving graphics, realistic weapon shooting and large explosions are simply stunning! And if you are looking for some action, you will be treated to thumb numbing, non-stop action!"

It is certainly too soon to pass judgement, but it would be nice to see some of Jimmy's efforts and advances put towards a different genre of game, instead of just endless sprites flying through the air trying to hit other sprites before they hit the sprite that is your ship. Especially if there is no AI, and everything is just a prerecorded playback that must be memorized to beat.
Some of the most popular games of all time had very crude graphics; its about gameplay and replayability.

X-Ranger
X-Ranger is not a flight-shooter, as in you will not fly. It's like the Beachhead game you see in the arcade. You are stationed with weapons and shoot the enemies coming at you both on the ground and in the air.
