Default Input on Input

It seems like there's as many different ways of getting data into PDAs as there are reasons for getting data out of them. Which ones really work the best, or is it all just a matter of personal preference?

Default Input Preference

Here is an area where one could become very emotional real fast.

To me it the issue of convenience and accuracy which dictates my preferred method of input.

Transcriber, in its latest presentation, works well and with minimum of error. It is by far more convenient and quicker than docking and using a mobile keyboard or worse yet the desktop. The hunt and peck of the keyboard option which is part of the PocketPC is maddening to me.

There will be as many opinions as there are responses to this survey without doubt.

Default To each their own...

That's pretty much what I expected. Not only do different input methods ideally suit different uses (filling out forms vs writing a paper, for example), but they also mesh differently with the various preferences and "working styles" of users. Transcriber works great for you, but it's not worth the trouble for me. I love Fitaly, others may be put off by the learning curve.

Everyone's different. Variety is good.

Default input

stowaway keyboard when I'm sitting, fitaly when I'm standing. for input, there's nothing more important to me than speed. plus, you can't really code in mgemacs without a full keybaord.

I'm probably the only person that likes JOT, but that's what I use about 90% of the time. Virtual keyboard is #2, when I'm entering passwords, etc. and I need 100% recognition (those little stars don't tell you what you inputted!).

I'm a Calligrapher kind of guy. I also have a SIP for Japanese input.

I have a stowaway keyboard that I use if I know I have heaps of things to write.

I did have to adjust my writing style a little to get optimal speed out of Calligrapher, but it wasn't that much of a problem.
