Keeping track of the boys of summer
http://rakonza.com/k-force/
I am not a baseball fan at all. Generally the game moves too slow for me, but I get a huge thrill of watching my 7 year old play and his 3rd year in the game started this weekend. Now that he is in a league that follows many of the normal rules of baseball, I decided to see if I could track his season this year on my Pocket PC. I tried paper, and when you only have a grasp on the basic rules of the game, scoring baseball makes scoring bowling look like common sense. :-)
Enter K-ForCE. I read their 115 screen tutorial (I recommend you print it off) and it showed me the basics. I was able to keep up with the game without too much trouble the first time out, a testament to how the program makes it both simple and keeps you from messing up too badly.
I actually found it kept me more involved with the game than if I was just sitting in the stands as I was not too inclined to get up and wander over to the concession stand or talk to the grandparents too much. At $34.95 it is on the higher side of Pocket PC software, and I'll probably try to score at least one more game to make sure it is something I want to do for the rest of the season. I won't use it this fall when my 4 year old starts his 1st year in the game. Somehow I don't think K-ForCE has a provision for someone making 5 strikes then running from home to second and finally stopping somewhere in right field to talk to his buddy. :-)

Looks great.
I personally think the game is as interesting as watching golf on TV, but the screen shots are awesome. And who can resist a valid excuse to bring your PocketPC along to the game. As long as my wife doesn't see me playing Doom. Lucky for me that my 5 year old only likes to kick and punch his way towards that ellusive black belt. And of course he likes to pretend he's a Weight lifter...
Keep up the great posts. I really like seeing the products you guys comment on. I just don't have the time to search for the next, great download.

Addison "L" Stop
Spring and batting cages on the way. And now this...whoa, now this is a cool app, something to actually use at The Friendly Confines...impressive with the MLB Add On pack and various sub configs. Would be neat if some MLB 'wireless scoring protocol' concept, in which it could wirelessly track the score itself. Does it have pitcher speed or type trackings? Would be a nice touch. Nice with reports and stats and StatTrack-able. Will give a full run thru. Speaking of baseball, 'The Rookie' flic was most excellent.

Just click the DOWNLOAD icon in the left frame and then another page will show up in the right frame with a download link.
If tht fails, go to www.handango.com and download from there.
