Default Pocket Artist 2.0 will support layers

http://www.conduits.com

A source emailed me a screenshot of the upcoming Pocket Artist 2.0! It will apparently offer full support for layers - I'm not clear on whether this means it will read & write in the native Photoshop file format.

Either way, it's great to see Conduits ramping up the feature set and UI on this piece of software.

Default PSD read/write

Yes, we will be supporting layers, all Photoshop blending modes, opacity, grouping, and native read/write of the PSD (Photoshop Document) file format.

We'll be shipping this "soon," though first you will most likely see a new version of Pocket Slides with support for the FlyJacket and Margi Presenter-to-Go hardware.

Thanks for the interest!

Default Layer Masks

Hey excellent! PSD file format support will be beautiful!! What about layer masks and/or channel support? If ya got layers you gotta have layer masks. What else would be nice would be add/subtract/intersect checkboxes on the selection tool options so you don't have to pop-up the keyboard to tap Ctrl/Shift (thus taking up screen space). How 'bout free-transform tools? Version 1.21 needed a scale tool.
Will this be a free upgrade for registered users? I should think that would be good since version 1 cost $50.

Would be nice if the upgrade were free. But I doubt it will be

My guess is, if the orignial program is $50, then upgrades will probably be $20-$30.

When I bought the program about a year ago they already were speaking about this upgrade (promissed it would be ready in august 2001). They also promissed it would be a FREE upgrade, well I have waited long enough I think, so it BETTER be free!

I can't wait to finally work with layers in this program, also hope they have added more brushes, a more intuitive zoom interface (that really bugs me in the current version, takes 3 tabs to zoom one step).

I really can't wait much longer!

Default Zoom

Yeah, there should be a hand tool for panning and then the options bar for the hand tool should have Zoom in and Zoom out buttons, and maybe a pop-up menu for Zoom percentages. (You don't really need a dedicated zoom tool).
And the hand tool should be the default startup tool 'cause sometimes when you try to drag those tiny scrollbars, the inaccurate digitizer ends up painting stuff on the image.

Default Cool!

This looks like it will be a great tool for designers like me. PSD file format support should be really nice. Can't wait for this to come out! 8)
