Default The KICKER zKICK ZK500 Zune Speaker Dock at CES 2008

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZHTSvHgSTo

I just returned from CES 2008, and while I was there I discovered a few new accessories for the Zune. Here's an impressive Zune speaker dock that kicked out some serious sound: zKICK ZK500, made by KICKER. It sounded great, although in the very noisy car audio section it was hard to hear much of anything clearly. They said they'd send me one for review when the product ships, so hopefully we'll be giving you a hands-on review in a more controlled environment. In the meantime, check out this video.

I'm guessing that with the amount of power that this cannot be battery operated.

Looks like AC only...

Correct, this is not a portable/mobile unit.

You said it sounded good.
How does it compare to the Altec Lansing M604 system?

It was in a noisy area, so I can't say too much about the sound quality, but from my brief exposure, yes, it sounded quite good. I can't give it a true thumbs up/down though until I get a review unit.

Hard to say until I review it, but the KICKER unit definitely seemed to have serious bass, which the M604 does not.
