Default MSN Remote Record for Windows Media Center Edition

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/mediacenter/evaluation/onlinespotlight.mspx#EAAA

"MSN, a world leader in delivering web services to consumers, will launch the MSN Remote Record service this Fall. The service allows users of Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 with a broadband connection to easily schedule TV shows to record at home from any PC with Web access. MSN Remote Record enables recording of single shows or entire series. The service enables scheduling conflicts to be resolved and keeps track of all shows remotely scheduled on the Scheduled Recordings page."

Interesting stuff, although it's worth noting that you can already do this with Snapstream's Beyond TV3 - I used that feature last night to remotely set up ten different TV shows because the computer running Beyond TV3 had a 17" Samsung LCD monitor that died. :-(

Yes, and you can do it with Tivo and ReplayTV too. I think it's more important to take comfort in the fact that they did think of it, without comparing to rivals, instead of inspiring the ire of MS haters out there for being the only ones who didn't.
