Default Yet Another Wireless Standard: CDMA2000 CDMA2000 1xEV-DV

http://www.cdg.org/news/press/2004/mar9_04.asp

The CDMA Development Group has recently announced a new CDMA standard called CDMA2000 1xEV-DV Release D. Nothing like consumer friendly names, eh? EV-DV will allow CDMA networks to handle simultaneous voice and data traffic over a single carrier achieving speeds up to 3 Mbps. Okay, I forgive them for the name. Live video conferencing is just one of the applications this technology is expected to support.
