Default Get Paid to Play Games

https://www.n-gage-special-forces.com/

On the subject of Nokia and gaming. Most of you are already familiar with Nokia's N-Gage cellphone for designed for gamers. I wrote about it in November 2002 in my post called "Definition of "What a Shame". I got flamed a bit, and maybe rightly so, for saying that N-Gage runs on top of a dead platform. Nokia continues to strengthen the N-Gage brand, bring more game developers to the platform and launching marketing campaigns. The latest campaign is the "N-Gage Special Forces" which anyone can sign up for. I believe many will try to sign up as Nokia pays participants to go to places frequently visited to play games on an N-Gage.

This is what it, according to Nokia, is all about:

"Get paid to have one of the coolest gigs around. Educate consumers about the N-Gage device. Conduct demonstrations of the N-Gage device. Plan and execute product demos at key events and retail hot spots. Report back to N-Gage feedback on the product. Make great connections and gain valuable experience to help you in the future.

Ever been sitting there playing video games and thought to yourself, "I can't believe I have to go to class/work right now...why can't I just get paid to play video games?" Why leave the video games at home, when you can take 'em with you - and get paid the whole time? Instead of letting all your responsibilities get in the way of going out to the game, bar or club, it BECOMES your responsibility to get out there and go to all your favorite places - video games in hand. All this is possible as a member of the N-GageTM Special Forces. The N-Gage Special Forces is an elite group of people who are selected to promote the Nokia N-GageTM mobile game deck to their peers while getting paid and having one of the coolest gigs out there. Youll get paid to play games on the N-Gage device and demonstrate the product to people at your campus, local events, around town and all of the places you love to hang out."

Microsoft has the Xbox, successful PC games, game developers, mobile devices, and partners such as device makers, carriers and so on. Is it a matter of time before these resources will be pulled together or should Microsoft stay out of this segment? What do you think?
