Update: Status Of Mango Update Push
"...we're starting the roll out of Windows Phone 7.5 to more than 98 percent of existing Windows Phone customers. This is a simultaneous, coordinated, global update that cuts across carriers, phone models, and countries. This time, almost everybody is going first. Check Where's My Phone Update? for the latest global status info."
Microsoft officially released Mango yesterday in a simultaneous update targeting 98 percent of their users with the exception of a few carriers and devices that were in the testing, planning or scheduling stage. The current status shows that in the U.S., all carriers are in the process of delivering the update with the exceptions being device specific. The HD7S is in scheduling, Focus v. 1.4 is testing and AT&T Venue Pro is in planning. In the international market, all except Spain's Telefonica and Samsung Omnia 7 devices from SFR and Deutsche Telekom are currently in the process of updating.

I have to confess ... I am going to try the 'force the update' method on WPCentral when I get home tonight ...

Go for it. I did it for my phone and my wife's phone. Both of us run the HTC Arrive on Sprint.
It worked great. But keep in mind that you may have to turn off the WiFi on your phone too. Turning it off on my Notebook alone didn't work, but once I turned it off, and left it off, on the phone, the upgrade trick worked great.

Thanks for that reminder - I saw that in the comments at WPCentral last night. I have a US Cellular HTC 7 Pro, and have pretty much abandoned it recently - even my kids (!) have little interest in it ... hopefully this revitalizes things!

Timing is very touchy - 'up to date' means turning off wireless too late, error code means too early ... it took me about 15 times, but it finally worked.

The error is in doing the update. I'll get to step 6 and an error comes up.

I saw some mention of that on that site ... did you ever resolve it?
Mine finished the 'first' update (was already at NoDo) and was just sitting there, but the phone had recognized Mango as available suddenly, so I went forward and it all went great.

Argh I'm just mad now. Phone update is a train wreck of problems.

Tried for about an hour, but couldn't get the 'force push' thingee to work for me. I did see some strange behaviour tho...
Even when my laptop was NOT connected to the internet (wireless and cable pulled) I was still getting 'Your phone is up to date'. When I put the phone into 'airplane mode', I then starting getting 'Can't get to update services' error message -- even tho the laptop was fully connected to the internet!
Hmmmm, looks like there may be some sort of 'interplay' between the phone's cellular data capability in the former case, and a need to have the phone connected to the cellular network in the latter.
In any case, I'll keep trying, but I suspect I'll just have to be patient. Yuk...
