1Password Hits The Mac App Store
"1Password version 3.9 is now available exclusively via Apple's Mac App Store. This version also requires Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, and will require users to pay a $20 upgrade fee." This is an annoyance for me. I purchased 1Password via their site, and have updated via their site since owning it. Now, starting with 1Password4, they will only be selling it via the Mac App Store. And I don't mean that 1Password is the only annoyance, there are other companies that do this. I can understand it, it is just the transition that is the pain. At what point do I move to the Mac App Store version? At least with 1Password, they cut their price by 1/2 and will give you a free upgrade to version 4 when it comes out, and it will only come out via the Mac App Store. What are your thoughts on this process or transition that many software vendors go through? For me, I'm going to plunk down the twenty bucks and make the move [affiliate link].
