Default Why The Federal Government Was Right In Blocking The AT&T T-Mo Merger

http://www.wired.com/epicenter/2011...top-att-merger/

"ANALYSIS - The feds unexpectedly walked into a federal court Wednesday to file a lawsuit seeking to block AT&T from buying T-Mobile for $39 billion.

Though you'll likely hear a lot of bitching and moaning about the move from politicians in the coming days, this is best thing to come out of Washington, D.C., since the Do-Not-Call list."

Wired's Ryan Singel has weighed in on the Federal Government's move to block the AT&T T-Mobile merger in his recent blog post.  His take is that the Feds were exactly right in their analysis that letting AT&T merge with T-Mobile and thereby become the nation's largest carrier would result in "higher prices, worse service and decreased innovation in the wireless space."  Ryan also gave a few worst case scenarios if the merger were to go through and AT&T becomes the largest carrier.
