Default IBM Creates Proof Of Concept Graphene Integrated Circuit

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...=faster-forward

Researchers at IBM have created the first integrated circuit using a graphene transistor. Graphene, first isolated in 2004, is a thin, highly conductive carbon film that has been touted as a potential replacement for silicon."Researchers at IBM have created the first integrated circuit using a graphene transistor. IBM researchers have just made a proof of concept graphene integrated circuit using a graphene transistor.  Graphene integrated circuits are capable of frequencies up to 10 GHz and are relatively unaffected by temperatures increases.  Researchers cited a few difficulties in working with graphene as it is only one atom thick and there are difficulties in binding it with other metals.  Ultimately, they believe graphene will replace silicon in the production of integrated circuits.
