Default iCloud, What Does it Mean?

"So the 2011 WWDC keynote finished a mere hour or two ago, and there's a great deal to talk about! Not least the launch of the wonderfully exciting, dare I say revolutionary, iCloud."

This is a brief but solid run through of the iCloud portion of yesterday's WWDC keynote. Some of the highlights for me were the syncing across multiple devices, the iTunes backup and sync and, oh yes, the fact that it is free. Of course the "one more thing" moment we all wait for was the iTunes Match, where you can store up to 20,000 songs for a mere $24.95 USD per year. Compared to the same number of songs on Amazon.com it would cost you $200.00 per year. That is a bargain, and it even matches songs you didn't purchase through iTunes. Some of the questions I have though, are regarding MobileMe and storage prices. You get 5GB free, but what if you need more? I would imagine it would be competitively priced, or at least I hope so. MobileMe ends on June 30th, 2012, so if you haven't extended your subscription and it's due, you are one of the lucky ones. For me, I renewed mine in March so it sounds like I won't get any kind of refund, or at least I haven't found any information on that. Oh well, that is how it goes I guess. What about you? What are your thoughts on yesterdays keynote? And if you haven't seen it, Apple has uploaded it so you can watch it here
