Samsung Galaxy SII: Coming Eventually
"Another strange thing is that the FCC filing only listed radio bands compatible with AT&T (and by extension many worldwide carriers), but not for any other major American carriers. The assumption is that Samsung will be releasing the device on all carriers as with the original Galaxy S, but we've yet to see the evidence beyond the Verizon roadmap." Samsung continues to do a poor job of controlling the flow of information regarding their products. After a tweet from Samsung India alleged that the SII would be delayed until at least June (the tweet appears to have been subsequently removed), it is now being reported that the device is still on track for its projected release date; unfortunately it's not exactly clear what that date is. It's also not clear exactly which carriers will be selling the device. As you can see from the quote from Androinica, Verizon originally leaked the device on their roadmap for 2011, but the only version to have passed the FCC so far is an AT&T version. I've said it before, and I'll say it again; Samsung needs to do a better job of communicating about their products or they will lose consumer confidence and, by extension, sales. They make some great devices, but they can't seem to get their act straight when it comes to talking about them or their release dates.
