Jobs Finally Gets Permission and Levels Mansion
"The destruction of the Jackling house on Mountain Home Road in Woodside began Monday, Feb. 14, and is expected to last about two weeks, according to town officials."
Image Credit: Apple Insider Steve Jobs bought this mansion in 1984, lived in it a few years then rented it out. After it became vacant in 2000 he sought permission to raze it and build something else on the site but ran into several roadblocks and lawsuits due to the historical significance of the house. It appears all that was sorted out, and now the mansion shown above is a pile of rubble, after certain things were salvaged from the property for their historical significance such as the flagpole, the copper mailbox, roof tiling and other things. It does look to me like a pretty cool house, but perhaps to Jobs it just wasn't worth fixing up. Regardless, now he can build what he wants on the property.
