Default Windows Phone 7 Ads Come True: Girls Walks into Water Fountain at Mall

You know those Windows Phone 7 ads that Microsoft has been running where people are so absorbed using their phones that the walk into things, including other people? Looks like one came true in real life - silly woman walks right into a water fountain! As someone who has dodged more than a few phone-zombies who stumble forward while texting or emailing, heedless of anyone around them, I have basically no sympathy for this person. Makes for a funny video though.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Actually, there's an app for this (now) in the Marketplace (at least in the LG portion of it). It turns on the camera so you can see 'thru' your phone to where you are walking, while you are texting, etc.

Sheesh, people -- get a life!!! (or at least get one OFF the net...)

Oh wow! That's actually quite neat. But how does it work? As an overlay?

That's been around for the iPhone as well. It overlays the text you are typing over the real time back camera image.

I kind of wonder if this wasn't staged. Kind of fortuitous to have two cameras at two angle catch it. If it was surveilance video, wonder what it would take to get copies, and whether your job would be at risk if you did.

That's so predictable and lame. She seems to have completely missed the point of what happened to her.

Wonder if the employees had approached her and offered to share the video as a Worlds Funniest Video submission (split the prize) if she would have been as upset
