I've been doing more<a href="http://ca.youtube.com/user/ThoughtsMedia" target="_blank"> YouTube videos lately</a>, and as such I want to bump up our profile there. You know how YouTube works: the most popular videos and channels got there by first getting some exposure. I'd like you to help me with that! Here's all you need to do:<br /><ol> <li>If you don't already have a YouTube account, <a href="http://www.youtube.com/signup" target="_blank">create one</a> (it's free and fast). If you have one already, you're golden.</li> <li>Jump over to the <a target="_blank" href="http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=clyCeze93BU">YouTube page where the HDX9200 unboxing and first impressions video is posted</a>. Watch the video, rate it, and post a comment on the YouTube page. <strong>Your comment should answer this question</strong>: <strong><em>&quot; How will the Dragon rock your world?&quot;</em> </strong>Meaning, if you were to win the <a href="http://h20219.www2.hp.com/hho/cache/545097-0-0-225-121.html" target="_blank">HDX9200</a>, how would it change things for you? Would it allow you to get rid of your current computer, monitor, keyboard, and speakers? Would you come up with creative uses for a powerful workstation that could be moved - could you finally launch that mobile music recording studio business, be a wedding photographer and edit photos on the spot, or would it allow you to achieve some other goal? Or would you just revel in the sheer power of being able to play games and edit movies faster than ever before? Tell me how you'd use this powerful computer!<br /> </li> <li>After you've posted your comment (only one comment per YouTube account), click on the yellow <strong>Subscribe</strong> button to subscribe to the <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/ThoughtsMedia" target="_blank">Thoughts Media YouTube Channel</a>.</li> <li>If you want to <em><strong>double your chances of winning</strong></em>, also post your comment here on Digital Home Thoughts as a reply to this post. <strong>Please post your YouTube username as well so I can verify that you've subscribed to our YouTube channel and posted a comment there</strong>. If this is your first post to Digital Home Thoughts, please allow up to 24 hours for your post to appear.<br /> </li> <li>I'll randomly select one person from the combined total of all the YouTube comments and the comments here. That person will win the laptop. Boom! Anyone in the world can win this laptop, thanks to the generous support of <a href="http://www.hp.com" target="_blank">HP</a> and <a href="http://www.buzzcorps.com" target="_blank">Buzzcorps</a> - it will be couriered to you.</li></ol><strong>The fine print about how I'm doing the random selection:</strong> When I do the random drawing, I'll do it from a combined total of all the YouTube subscribers and all the comments posted here on Digital Home Thoughts. Each YouTube subscriber and each comment posted here on Digital Home Thoughts will be assigned a numerical value, and I'll use <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/ThoughtsMedia" target="_blank">random.org</a> to pick a random number from the total. That's why if you post a comment both on YouTube, and here, you'll double your chances of winning. When I select the winner I'll be checking it against the comments, so make sure you fulfil all the contest requirements. If the person that is randomly selected hasn't followed my instructions, another winner will be chosen.<br /><br />If you have questions about the contest, please don't post them here, only post your contest entries - <a href="http://www.digitalhomethoughts.com/contact" target="_blank">send me a message with your questions using our contact form</a> and I'll update this post with further details if I've forgotten anything. I hope everyone has fun with this contest!<br /><br /><strong>*** UPDATE: PLEASE READ THIS. ***</strong> I just finished approving 65 (!!) new posts for this contest, and over 10 of them were duplicates. <strong>ONLY POST ONCE.</strong> You will not see your post right away if it's your first post to this site. It's held in moderation, then will be approved and will show up. Post ONCE, then come back in 24 hours and confirm your post is here (it will be). Anyone who has more than one post in this thread will be disqualified.<br /><br /><strong>*** UPDATE #2: PLEASE READ THIS. ***</strong> If anyone posts more than once to this contest thread, or to the YouTube comments, they'll be disqualified. I just spent 30 minutes cleaning up more than a dozen posts in this discussion thread from a single user. I appreciate everyone's enthusiasm for this contest, but because each post is an entry, I can't allow more than one entry per person per location (one entry here, one entry over on YouTube). When I randomly select the winner, I'll be searching through all the discussion posts and if that person has posted more than once, they'll be disqualified and I'll pick another winner. That's the only way to keep this contest fair.

This laptop would rock my world by allowing me the freedom to program where ever I feel like it plus it'll let me play the newest top end games. It currently is more powerful than my desktop, plus it can play BluRay which would be amazing. This is a beast that will please me in every way possible, and it'll probably be the same for everyone else.Silentdragonz at youtube.

First of all, surely I should be the winner since I have dragon in my username, and yes I've had it long before this contest. Ego aside, I'm very glad to enter this contest and to be introduced to this site. I find it to be very interesting so far.

Well, good luck to everyone on this contest.

This is an awesome beast. But the power brick is huge!
I'm using a very buggy Windows MCE laptop, and it's slowly being drained of its life force. If I were to get this masterpiece, no more watching H264 encoded videos with subtitle karaoke lag. And those light-speed ultra turbo jet thrusters will never have to go at 2 pixels a second again.
Best of all, I bring my computer to school to show anime to the school club. If I get that, the whole club can watch high-def anime.
Thanks!

Youtube User: SkyFuser

Some additional comments I couldn't fit: It'd also be awesome just bringing it to school for presentations... classmates are sure to wow :D
Plus, I never have to worry about having both Vista and Linux. Plenty space for all of it to fit.
And my favourite anime will finally have a good home to rest in ;)
Thanks again for sponsoring this! And your website is awesome!

I'll tell you how this piece of amazement will rock my world, and even let me able to rock others' worlds... I've always been back and forth between a desktop, and a laptop. It's difficult when you want performance, screen size and mobility all in one! It's funny that you mentioned the mobile music recording studio business, as about three months ago, I started working on my solo project, and due the lack of a lot of instruments, I have to either borrow the instruments, or move my entire workstation to the studio where the works get cooked. Doing that once or twice won't hurt, but on regular basis, well I sure need a solution.

I'm also a freelance illustrator, and an amateur director. I have a 4-year old Pavilion that fairly runs Windows XP, and nothing above that! A Dragon in my life will totally shift the way I interact with my favorite 3 activities.

Comment: How will the Dragon rock my world?

It'd give me a legitimate gaming PC, as opposed to pushing games at pathetic resolutions through my woefully underpowered notebook. The HDX would also be an excellent multimedia companion, and its massive amount of hard drive space would ease my current storage woes.

First off, this comp is freakin awesome! As far as how it will rock my world...first use, bragging rights. My supervisor at work has an XPS M2010 that he's always bragging about. With this monster at my command I can knock him down a peg. Not to mention the countless uses I'd have for movies, media, gaming, programming for work, contract work...the dragon would be central in my business and entertainment lives. You can bet I'd use that webcam to capture all the envious faces. Great review!

Being that I'm a student, the HDX would replace any sort of physical school work for me, and I'd be able to completely move to a digital phase in school. I'm also a great sucker for photography, and the bundled software, combined with the powerful hardware of this beast, will make it a walk in the park to manage and edit photos, digitally. I like to play games as well, and the HDX would have no problem keeping up with today's standards, both in terms of gaming and, well, any sort of media! :-)

How would this laptop rock my world? I'll tell you how. I would be able to play the hell out of every game I haven't been able to play since my current video card became so dated it stopped supporting next gen games. Oh, and it having 500 GB of storage, 4 GB of RAM, Blue-Ray drive and 20.1" display are nice little extras too.
Good luck to everyone.

How the Dragon would rock my world?

For me, the possibilities with Dragon are endless. I have always been an avid computer student but, so far the learning has gone very slowly because of my pentium. With the dragon, I could finally render my videos in less than a day and have everything move in real time rather than lag. To be able work and game with such a masterpiece would make every day of my existence in this world a little brighter and give me a whole lot more to look forward to.

I think the Dragon has to be one of the best looking "notebooks" on the market today, not to mention the power of the thing. A computer like this would completely rock every part of my world... I would love this to replace my current desktop computer and it would definitely do so. I use Photoshop for art and 3D creation and the Dragon would offer the power I need in a much more portable package than my aging desktop PC. There's nothing I don't like about the Dragon so far as I can see.

HOW WOULD THE DRAGON ROCK MY WORLD?
It would actually let me compute instead of being on my crappy little 2003 gateway with 512mb of ram and a 1.2 ghz single core processor. it would let me load a page without having to wait until 1 a.m. to load a youtube page and post this response. i'd be able to do some work and play games without having to go to work and have about 3 minutes between frequent visits from my boss. Being able to play games other than tetris would make the dragon rock my world!

comment: The dragon would rock my world because with it I wouldn't have to Cry over my Sis 900 on board gfx not being able to play Crysis. I could play all my fav movies in HD. I could play MGS4 on one BD , if it comes out for pc , instead of on 10dvds. I could rig it with my 360 and finally play in HD insted of on my old sdtv. I could chainsaw some locust fanny in gears of war and could do so much more in photoshop and virtual dj with the high end specs of this beast.

How would winning the Dragon rock my world? We would totally revamp our living room entertainment center, discarding our aging Sharp CRT and wheezing Toshiba DVD player. Plus, I'd get to play games that my humble Dell Inspiron 1501 just can't hack... like anything since Half-Life 2. :(

"How will the Dragon rock your world?"

If I was to win, I would be able to use my desktop as a server and actually play some serious games (Call of Duty 4, for example) on high quality settings with NO performance loss! It's almost unprecedented that a laptop can actually rival high-end desktop PCs, particularly in the graphics department. This is so revolutionary that I'd be tempted to stop upgrading my PC for about 2 years and just use this thing. Already, my old panel (17") is feeling small.

This is the comment I've made on Youtube regarding the HP Dragon giveaway under the ionen47 username:

Hi!
In June I'll graduate the University here in Bucharest as a political science major and being passionate about Technology, New Media and Online Networking has become my second nature for years :)
The greatest thing the Dragon would help me accomplish is one of entrepreneurial nature. What I mean by that is this - myself and some fellow colleagues and friends think of opening our own business of political marketing this summer. Imho the HP Dragon is the best tool to get us ready for success! The machine itself is really impressive, with all its ports, internal modjo and features - to me the Dragon looks a bit like a real spacecraft in miniature. HP has done a great work with it especially its design and power.
Also, for what I've noticed from the review, the built quality of this wonderful beast is impeccable - the dual hinge is quite the first of its kind I've seen and I must say it's very ingenious.
I guess the power adapter is not that big if we keep in mind the dimensions of the Dragon and its powerful roar :D
Great joke about the product naming ftw!

Many thanks in advance!!

Hi Jason...this is Barbara and I know for a fact that the DRAGON would change my world tremendously. Having 5 people in the house with one computer makes it extremely tough when you have everyone fighting for their time on. IF I WERE TO WIN; we would give the old computer to the kids and have the Beast for ourselves creating harmony in the Baker home.

<O:p</O:pBesides the harmony...I’d love to be the envy of ALL with this beauty (if you know what I mean (wink, wink).
*This is all I was allowed to write (with 500 characters)...oh well, I had fun with it and wish the best to all even though I'm really hoping I'm the lucky one to win.

Good luck again, Barb

Oh, it'll rock my world alright!

- It'll become my primary computer - i'll finally be able to give my current five-year old desktop to my mother, who has been wanting a computer to use (she wants to learn how to use computers).
- I'll be able to actually play some decent games for once - the most recent RTS that my five-year old computer can play is Rise of Nations. Yes, really.
- It solves one of the obstacles to me moving out from home - a stupid apartment can't hold a large desktop - but I need the processing grunt of one. The HDX gives me the best of both worlds. (i'm only 22, so i'm not a NEET or anything, just started working full time, saving for a deposit)
- I do financial modeling for a living - that screen size will be heaven-sent for my eyes. Believe me, you want as a large as screen as possible when working on spreadsheets and databases.

In short: GIMME! =P

Hi!
This great computer will certainly rock my world, because it has the best of a desktop (huge screen and awesome specs) and the best of a laptop (the flexibility to move it around the house as a portable media center). So it'd allow me to replace my desktop AND my laptop with the best of the two.
As for the purpose, I'll use that beauty mostly for video editing and media center, and maybe (eventually) games. Bye!

How will the Dragon rock my world? I'll be able to use a computer like never before, like they were meant to be used. I'd be able to make HD movies with ease and play 3D games on the highest setting available. And I could finally use an Office program that was made within the past 8 years. The laptop looks amazing and i'm sure that it would run amazingly too.

Great video - had me drooling over this great "laptop".

Having such a high end computer will enable me to play the latest games without any problems, but it will also help my family. We don't have a home theater at our house, but I guess having a HDX Dragon is equivalent - atleast in some way.
It will also be a major update to the Acer TravelMate (3 years old) that I have right now. It will also help me dump my old PIII PC which is junk. I would be able to use this BEAST for EVERYTHING!

I love this laptop. It will definitely improve my computing experience including productivity (e.g. uni work).

One note, though:
"I'll randomly select one person from the combined total of all the YouTube comments and the comments here. That person will win the laptop."

So we're relying on chances here, which is fine but as it is chance, there is chance that two or more will end up having the same total number of posts (as rare as it is but not impossible).

Something to think about.

But yea, the laptop is awesome. WHO WOULDN'T WANT IT? XD

Since I don't have my own PC, having this laptop would really rock my world so much. If I would have this laptop I would primarily use this for chatting (with video) with my sister and niece in Idaho, for keeping in touch and for my sister to avoid homesickness. Then for recording songs, blogging, school, programming, and playing games.

Let this laptop be mine and I would be very happy...

Finally I would be able to throw all these things and enjoy smoothly working computer for my hobbies (design, games, movies) and studies, plus I would be able to carry it to another room, so my wife and just born son will be excited, that I'm not staying in the dark room with broken computer :):)

Cheers, Metsn.

What an incredible machine! My world would be rocked right off it's feet - or should I say desk? Right now the only thing with the power the dragon has (or at least comes close to it) is big, bulky & has too many components - my desktop. I can't take that with me to starbucks, ya know? This machine would allow me to be mobile & powerful; at the same time! Sweet!

How it would rock mine? Simple. My PC can't handle the simple everyday tasks I ask it to do. I run tournaments on a popular gaming site, and I have had to stop doing them because this computer refuses and shuts down. I would have a working DVD burner (this one decided to eat my DVD), be able to watch TV, have an awesome system for my music and games. This is just an all around incredible piece of machinery. Good luck to all!!! :D

I'm studying design and photo at the moment, and I use mac at school(since i don't have a laptop).. but I'm a windows user for life, so getting this powerful machine would really help me with getting more work done faster at school, and of course give me lots of entertainment with movies, musics and games on the run :D I wish everyone good luck! This laptop would totally rock my world because, yesterday my trusty and (once) powerful 4-year old eMachine m6809 notebook finally bought the farm. I used it with and external tuner to watch TV while on trips, I used it to edit audio for my friend who is a competitive figure skater, and I used it to listen to edit pictures while on vacation as well. Another reason it would rock my world is that my desktop PC is getting a bit long in the tooth and is no longer a good gaming PC though it has served my well these past 3 years, it just hasn't got the power it needs now.

Lets also not forget that it will possibly replace my bedroom television with that massive and beautiful screen and HD tuner.

Hi,

Here is what I just posted over at youtube in the comments section:

This Dragon would rock my world in several areas: The 20.1 inch screen is larger than my desktop computer screen of only 17 inches! I don't have a webcam and would love that feature. I just got Illustrator software and am teaching myself how to use it. However, on my current SLOW desktop computer, it takes forever to do simple things with it. The Dragon would have me flying in no time, and I could pitch my desktop PC forever! Thanks for the chance to win!

My name there is the same here: zebrafly22.

Thanks!

It seems only fitting that a person born in the year of the dragon should win a "dragon". I am such a person. This computer would so change my life. Right now I use my pocket pc and pc (at the same time) to do work because my computer is so slow. This computer would allow me freedom to use programs that I currently can't use in my business (electrical) and therefore saving me time which would give me more time to spend with my family. Thanks for this opportunity.

My poor computer is so slow that I don't watch youtube videos because of the strain it puts on it. If I were to win this marvelous piece of work, it would change my life to a great extent. I would be able to play online games flawlessly instead of watching one frame one second then 5 seconds later, I get the next frame. I also love graphic design and editing movies, so I would also be able to do that without problem with the nice dual core processors. Space is no longer a factor which it is on my 30 gb hard drive right now. Ultimately it would just make productivity so much easier and faster.
All that I wanted to write didn't fit on YouTube so I would also revel in its bluray drive along with the 1080p display. I love high definition things, and I want a bluray player but cannot afford it at the moment.

I'm a 3D animator (check my youtube profile for short films - OutsideHollywood), and this laptop would give me the portability and flexibility that a freelancer needs, without most of the shortcomings of a regular laptop. It has things that all CGI animators need but few desktop replacements really provide, like a full numeric keypad, powerful GPU, maximum screen real-estate, and great rendering power. There's even enough hard drive space for multiple projects. With this I could hand down my ancient Dell Inspiron and step up to more fun!

Hey! I posted this on youtube.com, but I figured I'll just copy and paste it in here. Being a woman, I'm trying to go against my temptation to write a novel on this forum since there are so many things that would help me out to receive this laptop! But I got a lot of it on youtube.com... so here it is!:

The Dragon will rock my world SO HARD! I am a mother of 3 going on 4 this October! On top of being a mother, I am also a writer, I mix music (techno!), I'm a gamer (since I was 3 years old!), and I love movies! Being a mother of (almost) 4 children, I also don't get much chance to sit down at the stationary PC for long because of the interruptions. To have the opportunity to pick up and move to a different location would help so much. I'd like anything that makes my job easier! Thanks! :)

You guys rock! Good luck everyone! :)

I would like to have this laptop because I'm an old gamer since commodore Amiga 500 , but now days you have to get a powerful computer to play games smoothly and in a good quality.
Also I want to experience the quality of the HD and blu-ray movies, since the HP dragon meet the requirements for that.
Why would I go for a laptop and not a desktop? , the answer is.. because my 3 years little daughter will unplug all the cables for the desktop and play with it , so this laptop is the solution.

My current treasure pleasure takes about 10 seconds whenever I want to open My Computers. It's frustrating, especially if I'm trying to do something important, like trying to configure my wireless network. Mobile gaming? Not sure if it's referring to cellphones or just games, but I never was much of fan of cell phone games, just to throw that out there. But games in general? Oh yeah. People don't seem to notice my pretty much lack of computer, especially one for gaming, so what do they give me for Christmas? C&C 3!!! I am a HUGE fan of C&C series, and RTS in general. Unfortunately, my computer isn't a fan of either. Boo. I'm itching to test out my stack of games piled nicely in the corner of my room, and I am positive the Dragon will probably be powerful enough to run all of them at the same time (If I ever felt like doing that). Oh, I forgot to mention that Crysis is on top of the pile right now, and that looks like a BEAUTIFUL game.

The Dragon would rock my cerebrum to it's core!! I've never had a notebook, and the Dragon would eat my Dell for a light snack, so this juggernaut would be a new experience for me. First thing I'd do - stretch my legs, get out of my "computer room", and try working on my porch, amongst the birds and squirrels. I'd go on a frenzied, multi-tasking rampage converting media file formats, downloading media, editing the many photos I've taken, listening to music, while leaving my browser and a game open in the background for when I need a break. This would be my precious baby, and I would love it, care for it, and feed it lots of data to process.

I'm a software developer. The Dragon has got a powerful CPU, very high screen resolution, large HDDs and a lot of RAM, so I think writing and compiling programs would take less time than on my old pc. Moreover i would have more time for my family. Another important aspect is that I could take the Dragon anywhere, for example to a client and show him progress in a work.

Okay, so with this thing, I would finally be able to create .gif animations without extreme wait times, and it would allow me to finally play newer games. At the moment, Starcraft is about the best thing my computer can handle. On top of that, I could store all my photography on a single computer, and edit them easily anywhere I took it. With the 4 Gigabytes of RAM, it would be very unlikely for me to ever run into RAM issues again. On top of that, I would finally have speakers. With the TV tuner, I would finally be able to record and watch TV much more often, unlike with my current setup.

I have two boys and we do online gaming. When we do, we like to look over each other's shoulders when playing. However, as our house is small, my main computer is in the main living space. While I love computers, I do not want to have a bunch of them down here all of the time. As such, I need something that the kids can bring upstairs for when they do their homework, and downstairs when we play. With the massive specs, we will have no problem playing anything out there. Beside that, this beast will allow me to move around everytime my baby daughters prevent me from doing my freelance jobs, and I'll do them faster so to have more time to spend with them.

How the Dragon would rock my world:

Ever since we moved to a new state, I have noticed a problem with my kids. They don't steal cars, shoot occupants or run over prostitutes in order to get back their money. They don't whip out dual katanas and start battling in the middle of the street. The don't even toss a ball from their jacket and scream 'Pikachu I choose you!'. They go to school, play in the yard and with their friends, watch TV and play video games.

In other words, they can tell the difference between fantasy and reality.

This is a travesty and must be stopped. And I know the cause - low definition gaming. It is easy to know that something is real when you are playing on an old 14" screen with jaggies and lag.

I want my kids to step off of the school bus and into a work when imagination becomes real, and reality becomes your imagination; where they can realize every kids' dreams of decapitating an enemy and beating their companions to death with the severed skull. I want them to live in a world where then can jump on giant mushrooms and truly believe that they can jump to the stars.

But I also want them to know that life isn't all fun and games. When they start working on their homework, it should feel like they are cracking the lid on the steamer trunk of their imagination; the top should stand apart and dare them as a canvas upon which to express their creativity. The keys should be just sitting there waiting for them to write the great stories spinning in their minds, to solve the problems of the world using math and physics and stunning charts and graphs.

And when they are done, they should simply fold it up and take into the other room and share their work with us just as easily.

HP seems to have been a part of my life forever, and they have earned my business again and again. As a kid in the late 60's my father told me of his work as a regulatory engineer getting to see one of the very first HP calculator prototypes. In high school I bought myself a HP15C, and as I moved from undergrad to grad school my mentor gave me a graduation gift of a HP28C. As I started work in the real world I was floored one day when I saw the HP 95LX in a store and bought it on sight! I worked my way up to the HP200LX, which I still have - and then started on laptops including my beloved Omnibook 800CT that I still have outfitted for DOS programs and games. I loved their 430SE, which was my first MP3 player, and then the Jornada line (still have my 545 and 728), and my current Pocket PC is a HP iPaq 4355 (yes, I know that is a Compaq, but it says HP on it!). Coming full circle, my recent job changed has landed a HP laptop on my desk once again, a 6910P.

HP has been there throughout my life, infusing memories over the past 40 years. And my kids have become part of that chain of life, and the Dragon would become a central part of our family's entertainment and productivity by allowing us to have a 'portable big-screen' for DVD's, gaming and work.

This contest rocks! If I won the Dragon my digital life and productivity would be greatly enhanced. I participate on a FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION team, and during the off season we don't communicate much. So the build-in webcam/microphone would let me schedule video conferences with some of the members of the team. My role on the team is that of a programmer. Right now we write the majority of our code on two 5-year-old Dell Dimension desktops, and one laptop that no one really knows what it's age is. Needless to say that it takes FOREVER for our code to upload onto the robot. With the Dragon we could be programming more efficiently.

Also, people on my team (including myself) have been making short promotional videos for our team and have been in the process of creating a database of photos. Our computers don't have enough space or the right software to do these tasks. Obviously the Dragon would solve this issue easily.

I can go on and on, but I won't. The last thing that I want to say is that the Blu-Ray drive is SWEET! Who ever wins this thing is going to be able to watch the latest movies in Hi-Def on a 20.1" screen Ultra Brightview screen! WOW!

Good luck to everyone! Thanks HP, Digital Hoem Thoughts, and everyone else who is giving this away or sponsoring this great contest! Good luck!

The great thing about this machine is how it brings together a powerhouse with portability. It makes for easy setup that can be transported to a new location quickly and yet doesn't disappoint in any of its productivity capability.

As a volunteer, this would be the perfect machine to take to and set up at our events for having a work horse computer that could be set up relatively at a whim without worrying about overworking it. No need for pushing a smaller laptop to its max or taking excessive time moving and setting up a more powerful desktop.

Of course, the video and gaming possibilities for personal use are great too. :)

The dragon will rock my world by finally clearing the clutter off of my desk. My only computer is a tablet pc and it serves the role of my desktop. To do this it needs a separate mouse, keyboard, monitor, hardrive and speakers. The dragon could eliminate all of that. It would also allow me to use my tablet as a tablet more often, because unplugging all those wires takes so long, I sometimes just leave it plugged in as a desktop, instead of picking it up and taking it around the house with me.

"How will the Dragon rock your world?"

Other than replacing my outdated HP pavilion desktop the dragon would help my aspiring music future. Playing classical, blues, and anything else on guitar is what I do. I would like to get into recording and mixing my guitar work but my system just doesn't cut it for high end sound quality.

The form factor of the machine would allow me to bring the computer where I needed to record whether it be at a friends house or anywhere else. Although it's not a professional rig, I can only afford for basic equipment, and all I need would be something amazing to process it on which would be the HP Dragon. It would be beneficial to giving birth of visions of sound from an aspiring musician.

This is literally going to rock my world, hopefully jump starting something my friends and I can use to get our music out to the masses.

Other than the majority of music aspirations, the HP Dragon will help me excel in my college studies, making my work more efficient. There won't be any worries of my system causing problems while typing a long lab report or essay.

Thanks for the opportunity to enter the contest.

Youtube account: ptrader2001

As I said over on YouTube, even though I'm the geek in the family, I'm hoping to win the Dragon so my husband can be the primary user of it. For one thing, it's tricked out with all his favorites - HD, TV, Blueray, and gaming. But I'm pretty sure I can find a place for it where I can do my writing on it too!

It would really rock my world to be able to surprise him with a Dragon.

This beast of a laptop would more than rock my world. I'm a student pilot and I play the Flight Sim 2002 which is very old. The dragon would allow me to play Flight Sim X which not a lot of computers can play. I would have real world airport information(very important). I would be able to work my weaknesses out after a lesson with my instructor, accelerating my aviation career. I finally be able to play the games my brother has(which i can't play), online from across the country. Awesome video!

This beautiful machine would finally enable me to gather all the music, photos and videos scattered across our 2 laptops, 2 desktops and 1 tablet pc and make them available to everyone in the house. Even better, it would give us a system powerful enough for serious video and music editing. Being able to watch blu-ray movies in HD would be fun, too.

How will the Dragon rock my world?

A strong and fast CPU, a big display, a great video card, etc., and the best, all these features in a portable PC will mark a big diference in my biomechanics engineering work, development and research. I could use the same machine at work and at home. Wow, Dragon is the tool that I need!

The Dragon would rock my world for sure! I've yet to have a Media Center PC, and I've wanted one for ages. Yes, it is more powerful than my desktop, so I may just gift that to someone who really needs a decent computer. And my grandson, who lives with me, would surely be in nirvana with the Dragon in our home.

The HDX Dragon will rock my world in so many ways.

It's computing power will make my university and freelance work flow much faster and more efficient. I will be to multitask much better then even my dv 9000.

I already use Vista Ultimate and I am very happy that this one will have it installed.

The entertainment options will allow for more choices for my family. I can set it in my HP dock and have a full blown entertainment center on my desk in the bedroom, very nice when there is decension on entertainment choices.

I have also always wanted a flight sim and having it and this powerful a computer would be a real treat.

Thank you for this chance.

How will the Dragon rock my world?

I can finally hand my current computer off to my wife. We wouldn't have to be fighting over who's going to use the pc. The Dragon looks like a Awesome unit!!! And I would never get the ok from wife to buy a 5k computer. Wahoo

Rock My World Oh God :eek:Oh God :eek:What would I do. I would never sleep again If I won the Hp dragon. This PC is so dam awesome and loaded I would not haveenough time in the day to use it. Forget about the shower 5 minutes is too long to be without the gaming and the movie possibilities. Or I could shower but I don't want to get the dragon wet.
Using the restroom could be another problem but the dragon is portable so I
never have to sit on the Crapper again with out my PC. My wife and kids would
be yelling :mad:at me on my 2 hour bathroom trip. Eating may be a problem I will
just have the pizza delivered to me in my bathroom or wherever I may be with my dragon. Going anywhere where I have to drive will be out of the question don't want to wreck and break my dragon. because I was trying to drive and Play at the same time. This Monster Would allow me to play the games I won with full quality without freezing up. And yes this wold replace my current PC I would give my current one to my wife because no one will use my dragon without my fingerprint.

On sleeping that will never happen again there is just not
enough time to sleep.

I am in awe and in love with this thing already. The Dragon would COMPLETELY ROCK MY WORLD!! I don't even want to tell you how pathetic my current computer and TV are. This magnificent creature would replace all of that rubbish. This would be awesome for communicating with overseas family, I miss them so much. If I won this, the kids can have my old piece of junk! I will be chilling with headphones and music booming, blocking those rowdy kids out for just a minute! I need this for my sanity!

The Dragon rocks my world so much, I'd be able to replace my antique desktop PC, and be able to use this as part of the mobile studio I've always wanted when shooting videos and stills of participants at SCCA events I attend. In the past, I had to blast home after attending time trials, hit the darkroom and/or VCR, and proceed to create the vids and photos of the racers. Then, usually without sleep, the next day I'd charge back to the track to provide the finished product. Dragon would be easier and more professional, getting it done immediately at the track.

Terrific video and blog! The Dragon would definitely rock my world. I'm currently in the market for a new power laptop and this is the best one around. I'm hoping to get my hands on a Dragon to replace my current Compaq Presario 1800T laptop (circa 2000) - which shows I'm adept at keeping my tech stuff in good condition! I am a huge technophile and want the best machine for my medical work and home use as well as video production. Of course, if I had the Dragon, I would give my 1800T to my younger brother. What good is new technology if it can't be used to make a difference in someone's life? ;)

Thank you for the opportunity!

This would rock my world by giving me a mobile publishing and graphic design machine that I could use instead of having to rely on an aging desktop. The huge storage space would allow me to take work with me that I otherwise couldn't. The huge screen would eliminate the need for two monitors most of the time. The fast processor would make encoding movies a much shorter process than it is for me currently. And of course, it would make an excellent way to relax and watch a movie occasionally.

(Youtube User jjlange91)

There wasn't room to add this, but i've tried photoshop on the core 2s and it flies compared to the system I'm currently using.

I have a 4 year old pc having P4 processor and 256MB RAM. No Graphic card. I have game addiction. I am unable to play high quality games, when I install high quality game in my PC I always encounter problems due to RAM and Graphic Card. I am sure, no one has computer configuration like the dragon has in my friends group, in my college and (I think) in my city also. There computers (mine also) will look like pussycats when the dragon will stand in front of them.

For my entire life, I have dreamed of the day that I could have something to shove in those rich, arrogant Mac user's face and be like, "BAM! You got a 0.76 inch tall laptop with a ten minute battery life? I got 17 pounds of pure BEAST." Sure, they can throw their little animation with simplified, overpriced ******** attached, "I can edit a video in Adobe Premiere, design a new template for my website in a Dreamweaver, be working on a new banner for that website in Photoshop, convert a DVD to MPEG format, stream some videos on youtube, and still have enough power to run a nice little match in Command and Conquer in a window! What now BITCH?!?!". Then they could play the card about the "sleek design" and "wireless input devices", but then I just have to shove this monster in their face and they are on the ground crying about how they just spent $3,098.00 on a piece of crap. Then you take their MacBook "Air" and throw it as far as you can down the street and jam their wireless keyboard and mouse down thir throat while rubbing it in their face while they are laying in a pool of their own tears crying for their moms.

Now that I have that off my chest, lets talk about this epic beast of a machine, and why I want it so much: when I read about this contest, I literally jumped out of my seat with excitement. I thought, "Hey! I like writing extremely oppinionated articles on stuff! I can so win this!". There are so many things that I can do with this thing! I can multi task, video edit with speed, and I might even be able to solve world hunger!

No, but seriously, I want this notebook/desktop hybrid more than anything in my life right now. Right now I'm sitting in class writing this article, thinking about it. If i was awarded with this prize, I could take it to the park and watch tutorials and fix my technique and such with flips without having to walk a few miles back home to do so. I would have an intense amount of extra storage space for my videos and downloads, and BEST of all, I could finally play my favorite game on the fullest graphics (Supreme Commander) without slowing anyone else down!

On top of that I could do it all from wherever I wanted.

This laptop is the pinnacle of all laptop design so far. I really hope you can choose me to win this amazing object of machinery, and I thank you for taking the time to read my contest entry.

P.S: I apologize for the violent opening paragraph...sometimes I get too carried away when I write.

"How will the Dragon rock your world?" Well let's see here...it's way, way better than my desktop PC, and it's just a laptop. Not only will it hopefully play some real games, but I'll finally have a computer all to myself (my brother likes to take over the computer when I'm not looking). Hopefully it'll be more stable than my desktop PC as well, this thing likes to BSoD me when I'm not looking.

This is the perfect computer system. I've been toying with building a media kiosk with an old laptop. This machine would be able to do that and so much more. This also be able to be a true media center for the pics and videos I have on a central server. The large hard drive would give me the capability to make this kiosk truly mobile. And of course this would be a smoking ProTools rig. It would be so much easier to record bands because it is truly portable.

I'm into photography and recently switched to full digital. Being able to process RAW on the go would really rock. Not only that, but this single unit would replace both my desktops since I could use it for gaming as well. I know a few people who don't have computers and it would rock their world as well since I would love to give them my old computers and it would mean more space in my house as well.

That was exactly what I put on YouTube. My name over there is the same as it is here. :)

You guys have some great contests, but you also have a great blog. I found it through Zune Thoughts and that is a great website as well. Just wanted to let you all know what a great job you are doing.

The Dragon would rock my world by letting me leave behind (and hand-down) my long-in-the tooth Desktop (a P4 Compaq) & ancient Laptop (an 867*MHz* G4). In doing so, I'd have the tools to work, play & entertain more than ever. With the power of the HDX I can create graphics & sites faster than ever, with the goal of getting a job in the competitive Las Vegas design industry. It would also let me try things that I was loathe to do (such as 3D modeling) on my old computers, underpowered as they are.

I had to start over with a new comment (which I reproduce above) as I couldn't select my original comment after clicking post. The HP HDX Dragon would absolutely rock my world if it found itself under my arm. As I currently have no desktop and not very powerful laptop, the dragon would open up a whole range of new possibilities for me. From the mobile recording studio I've always wanted to a fast gaming machine (for Crysis!)and awesome movies thanks to its bluray capabilities. This is one badass computer and I would treat it like my own child!

I would finally get rid of my cable clutter, keyboard, screen, mouse, noisy big box, etc, in a form factor which would allow me to move it around the house room to room as needed. Cool!

The Dragon would rock my world because I would also be able to take it to friends´ houses to play network games, and I definitely would use it also in my living room as a media center (the HDMI connector rocks).

Let me start off by saying my YouTube username is McNubbins1. I'm glad to be participating in your giveaway, the HDX Dragon is one heck of a machine! :)

Good luck to everyone.

The HDX Dragon would rock my world because it would once again make me a force to reckon with in the PC gaming world! My gaming rig right now is a throwback machine that is, to put it nicely, in a rough state. I need a good rig to play my most anticipated game too - STALKER Clear Skies.

I'm also a .NET web developer, so the HDX Dragon would make me much more productive in my work life as well. Just by taking a brief look at the Dragon's specs it's obvious to see that it would absolutely destroy Visual Studio! :)

The fact that it has everything necessary to become my digital media hub is an added bonus as well. Let's just say watching Pirates of the Caribbean on that 21" beauty would be amazing! Not to mention the games it comes with, I've really wanted to get back into a Flight Sim game and Flight Simulator X looks beautiful - not to mention Gears of War with the Xbox Live functionality.

This is absolutely unbelievable. Didn't think HP would come this far in their notebook production. When there's always a notebook better than mine out there, it's gotta become mine, and this notebook becomes 10 times better than my desktop computer!

This 31 days of the dragon contest is about the only chance for me now to have the best taste of what HD really means. The HP Pavilion HDX truly is the number one choice for me when talking about having the gaming capabilities, a large HD1080p theater, a TV, a Bluray player, and a media player ALL IN ONE complex platform! It's perfect that Digital Home Thoughts can give me a chance to receive one this new year!

It'd replace the old 19" analogue tv i've got in my cramped apartment, it's faster than all of the computers i've ever owned combined (insert poor student lament here), and i'd have to use the bluetooth (alright, dongles are like $10- why haven't i done it yet?) to fiddle with a wii controller http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~johnny/projects/wii/ (http://www.cs.cmu.edu/%7Ejohnny/projects/wii/)

Nice review of a sweet machine Jason! There are SO many things this would help with! Being a dinosaur myself, I am wanting to convert VHS home movies to DVD,so that firewire port, big hard drives and fast dual-core would rock! I am converting my records and tapes to CD. This would be sweet to take to meetings where I am now taking notes on a 200mhz (yes 200mhz) laptop. It would be sweet for watching movies on the road (or at home!), and it might even get my son the maniac gamer off my back (we need more RAM Dad, we need more hard drive Dad, we need a bigger graphics card Dad)!! And, not in your video, but the flight sim that comes with would be way better than that FS2004 I bought right before the new version came out (ain't it always the way!). Yes, this would rock my world! - and I'm "Foresteronce" on youtube. I guess this moniker was already taken there!

How would this rock my world? Well, firstly I would get rid of my desktop computer and my laptop. This gives me the awesome power of a desktop with the portability of a desktop. I would also move it to the living room to hook up to my TV and use it as a media center. And take it to work so I can revel in the envy of every one of my coworkers. That would definitely put some life into my computer using. I've been using the same computer for 5 years, and it's not much but who can complain, it's better than nothing. I do a bit of video editing and game playing aside from work which is cut short due to today's standards of system requirements which a 2ghz celeron with 256mb RAM with 40 gigabytes of storage just doesnt satisfy. I'd feel lucky if I win this.. the reasons are simple and clear... plans to buy a new one but the funding is quiet complex of the specs I have in mind being a student. This Dragon would surely help me more than what I am presently imagining!

From the moment I laid eyes on this beast I knew I was smitten. From its clean lines
to its integrated touches I know deep down inside I have met my first true
system, the HP Pavilion HDX Entertainment PC. The ‘Dragon’ as they call it,
defines perfection in many ways, there are no losses but consistent gains. A
complete desktop that fits the needs of an individual like me who wants it all
but refuses to be shackled to their desktop. ‘Dragon’ personifies mobility and
power that will surely be the life of the party wherever I go. If I ever saw a
computer for the 21st century or defining example of the near future
in computing, this is it!

What makes the HP Pavilion HDX Entertainment PC so great? Is it the immersive 20.1
diagonal WUXGA High-Definition HP Ultra Brightview widescreen? Is it the
monster Intel Core 2 Extreme X9000? Is it the mind boggling 4 GBs of DDR2
System Memory? The gamers’ heavenly bliss 512 MB NVIDIA Geforce 8800M GTS or
the store your entire life 500 GB SATA Hard drive? It’s all of that and more!
The fact that Dragon exudes productivity, I will finally have interest in doing
work and meeting those deadlines, the fact that it comes with the latest and
greatest from Microsoft (Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit and Office 2007
Professional) is more than enough incentive to put on a shirt and tie. The HP
Pavilion HDX Entertainment PC comes ready out of the box to meet a variety of
needs. For me personally it’s the synergy that will be created between the two
us, the ability to work in harmony and as a team to accomplish the goals I aim
for, whether it’s typing a thesis or blowing up the planet and bringing
complete order to the galaxy with a magnificent finish in one of my favourite
games.

Productivity and Gaming are core features built in; the processor, the video card, memory
and screen all make this a complete system, but HP has gone far beyond that in
many ways. Software is a critical component and when I look into the array of
choices that come bundled with the HP HDX Entertainment PC I know I have
stumbled upon something truly awesome. I am going to admit I do have my coach
potato moments and HP made it even more comfy with a fantastic set of movies
such as Pirates of the Caribbean, but what makes it even better is they are
Blu-Ray DVDs that will bring the movie theater experience into my living room
with 1080p goodness. When I want to get intense and do major battle, Gear of
War is there to get me intensified and ready for battle in addition to Flight
Simulator X series for persons like me who have had the buzz for the **** pit
more than a few times. Creating memories is something I have a passion for,
when family and friends are over or for those times I have traveled to faraway
places on the island or abroad. Pictures, videos, music; Dragon not only
provides a platform for creativity but a personal repository for managing and
sharing my digital memories. Hey, with 500 GBs of storage, I should not be
seeing any ‘you are running low on hard disk space’ anytime soon.

Only words can describe what a magnificent package Hewlett Packard has put together.
It’s my time to be the center of attention and envy of all; the ‘Dragon’ magnifies
this opportunity. I completely and wholeheartedly know this is the system to make ‘my digital world a better
place’. It’s not about the fundamentals, it’s about life changing experiences
and the HP HDX ‘Dragon’ gets me ready for it. </pre>

How will the Dragon rock your world?
I would rock out with my laptop out! With this beast of a machine I could finally play Crysis on the top settings which is actually something I've been wanting to do for a while. Running Vista on my current laptop would probably be an impossibility, I could only dream of actually owning such a tremendous laptop which stands tall amongst all other laptops. I'm even going to have to buy a TV license for it, which I've never had the opportunity to do before.

The HDX Dragon would rock my world by allowing me to be more productive in my work and also getting rid of the wire mess on my desk! It looks like an excellent machine that is perfectly suited to my needs - I'm a software developer :)

How the Dragon would rock my world?

As I said in Youtube. This would be my very first laptop. I have wanted one for a very long time and what would be better than getting a very powerful one. This laptop would completely replace my current PC because its so much better and powerful. My computer lags when I watch mkv encoded videos. Also, I would finally be able to watch Blue-Ray movies in full HD cause I don't own a HD TV or a Blue-Ray player. I would be able to purchase the newest games and play them without any lag.

As I've said at youtube, it would change completly the way I work and use my computer. I can't play games since I have an intel graphics card (that was about a year ago). Also I would be able to feel the power of such system working with media edition (I really wish I could do that).
So... good luck for all of us!

As I said in Youtube,
"Amazing Notebook.
It can completely replace my existing desktop, and that's not an easy task. My current rig's got a Q6600, Geforce 9600 GT, Audigy 2 ZS, 500W PSU, and 2 GB DDR2-800 RAM. Also with a 21.6" LCD. The "dragon" has specs that are too similar to choose my desktop over it, since it's got the added benefit of being portable. Possibly, I can also work out using the 15 lb weight in my backpack to university everyday. :P"

As for "How would the HDX Dragon would rock my world?"

How wouldn't it!
It is like a portable used to be (before laptops existed); but opposite with regards to memory and CPU power)!
This will browse the web, with streaming audio and video, while doing a bunch of other things that bring my current computer to a crawl, and studder the audio.

This would easily replace my current desktop computer!

As a medical student, a computer is pretty much required with my admission to college. And when I'm running a 6 year old Dell at home, anything that can run XP starts to look good. Regardless though, this machine is almost invaluable. For note taking, power point, word, blah blah blah, I could probably use a cell-phone now. But for me, I need something to plug into my HDTV too, and while I'm at it, something to edit videos on at home instead of my school's crappy Mac lab. I don't know how I've lasted this long without a laptop.

Now,I could easily run Windows Server 2008 and use the advanced Hyper-V virtualization technology.I can also transform this into a mini HTPC,watch & record my favorite TV shows! Now,I can live in style ;)

My wife and I are upgrading to high-def in stages. First step was getting a HDTV (42" LCD 1080p) and home theatre system. Second step is connecting that to a media center with Blu-Ray player. Plan was to wait a year but I sure would love to move that up by winning a Dragon. I'll put it to use as a media center right away, recording and playing back TV, and build up our Blu-Ray collection over time. As a mobile PC enthusiast, I'd carry this monster to any room, except the bathroom... maybe. -- sumocat666

I would use my HDX Dragon to replace my aging Dell Dimension 8400, which I would otherwise turn into a media center. With this, that would no longer be necessary, and I would have an amazing platform on which to play Half-Life 2 and, with any luck, Oblivion at near-decent framerates. As of right now I use a Toshiba laptop with a cracked screen to view the internet and to do my work online. Using this laptop is very hard for me since I only have about half the screen as usable work space. So anything I view, I have to view has to be compressed to a very small size. This is the reason I would love to win this great piece of technology. If I win this machine, I could finally finish up my web design projects I have been trying finish for my clients and get paid. The HDX9200 Dragon would help me by its sheer power and screen size. Having a laptop with 20 inches of work space would rock my world and help me achieve greatness. Also another plus from this laptop would be that I could finally move to different areas of my home and do my work and not be stuck in my office all day long.

Having the HDX would revolutionize my DJ career by allowing me to spin videos at clubs instead of just audio. I could easily plug the video output into various clubs' monitors and present clubgoers with a complete audio and visual experience: all without having to take a desktop computer to the club. I could throw it into a backpack and go all over the planet becoming the world's most famous DJ, because I could do it all, with just a backpack!

Right now I'm using the VAIO UX180 UMPC, it is basically the polar opposite of the HDX. My UX180 is tiny and low powered. It has its uses. However, I don't have a powerful desktop for my heavy media and gaming. With the HDX I'll be able to do heavy stuff such as photoshop, video editing, and game to my hearts content, which I have been cut off from because my UX180 lacks the power. Luckily the HDX is not a desktop but a desktop power laptop, so I will be able to stay portable! Good luck everyone

because this laptop has so much memory and 4 GB of RAM, that is incredibly fast. I would actually use this powerhouse of a laptop towards my future. My youtube account is TheNewSora92120, similar to my username here. Like I've stated on youtube, this laptop would improve my video making capabilities probably tenfold. That is how slow my laptop is and the sad amount of memory it has just makes it worse. Everyday for my sports season, I play badminton, i have recorded my teammates everyday to make a scrapbook video at the end of the year for all of them to enjoy. The problem is... raw footage is a lot of memory. I'm glad that this laptop has a firewire port, and a 4 x 4 one at that. It's perfect for my life right now. And the webcam would totally help me with tutoring because I have to tutor my friends in math, and doing it over instant messaging is REALLY difficult because I want to show them how i did the problem. I hope that i win this laptop because i have a feeling that i will significantly help others with it and it would benefit my future as a successful movie maker. Thank you for your time.

Hey guys! My name is Reeve and for this story, I am the hero(or so me thinks!!) :D hehe....Anyways, I am a student doing my graduation in Computer Science. Being a Geek, technology is all I can think about! I know I know, most of you are probably saying how come he is proclaiming himself as a g33k (leet enough for you? :P)......well the fact that I am the top ranker in my college, having set up and managed the entire Computer lab in my college, pioneered a special 'Teach the Teachers some Tech' initiative, and being the guy who everyone calls when they have an issue, I can safely say I have used Technology in the way it was intended to be used!

But being a student has its drawbacks. I am currently using an HP Pavilion dv6000 series laptop. Although its a bloody good performer, its not the Iron Man of laptops!! It can manage to run a majority of the apps that I use most often, such as Visual Studio 2k5 or Photoshop(albeit a bit slow).....but it sucks at gaming! I tried playing Bioshock on this once, but the Nvidia 7200 series gfx card, made me enjoy a slide-by-slide presentation of the starting presentation video. I gave up immediately after that, b'cos I didn't wanna keep playing the game till my first son arrives!!! :D I've even had nightmares that I tried to run Crysis on it and caused a meltdown! :S And since I am an avid movie buff, as well as an amateur photographer, many a times I feel that the machine is a helluva lot underpowered when it comes to editing and encoding movies. Now this is where the HP Pavilion HDX can fill a huge void in my life! Do you know what happens to the self-image of a geek when he realises his PC is slower than his neighbour, who uses it only for surfing Facebook??!! :S With this baby, I could have the most mind-blowing, teeth grinding, crysis fraggin beast in the city(I dunno how many people have this 'powerhouse' in Mumbai!) I mean just imagine how much this machine will change my life! I could play all the latest games without having to play at the lowest resolution and switching off all effects. Nor would I have to pray to god everyday to get me an xbox360(every night!!) hehehe...And no one would dare challenge me to a frag-off in CS if he ever saw my laptop!!!! Then comes in the firepower in terms of the kick ass CPU. I could convert all my movies for my PSP, MS Zune and brother's iPod with ease! That would save me so much time rather than waiting for hours waiting for the bloody process to complete! Speaking of movies, I watch all my movies on my laptop, since I do not own a television. Believe me, watching a movie on a small laptop, hunched in front of your desk, with earphones, sucks!!!! This thing would revitalise my movie watching experience. With this beauty, I could enjoy my movie watching experience in comfort thanks to that brilliantly designed remote (when I saw that, I blurted out loud " Why didnt I think of that?!") and that 20 inch screen would be sweeeeeeeeet! And that in-build TV Tuner will give me my TV fix whenevver I crave for it!! Speaking of a 20 inch screen, having so much screen real estate would help me in my designing. I design small websites and graphics to earn some money on the sidelines. And a 15 inch screen isn't really helpful in that endeavour!! And those integrated Altec Lansing speakers ought to blow my pants off with their audio quality! I am already impressed with my current Altec Lansing speakers that HP has integrated with my current laptop. They sound friggin awesome. Imagining 4 speakers with an inbuilt woofer in a laptop sounds simply mind boggling to me!! I have to hand it to the HP design chaps, they must have some killer minds to design a product like this! Those speakers will do full justice to my music and movie collection that I have painstakingly collected over the years!

All in all, this machine would fill every technological gap that exists in my life. I leave in June to start my MBA course, and having a top of the line lappy by my side during the two year course would make sure that I am 100% entertained and 100% productive and 200% happy!!! :) And having that fingerprint recognition system will ensure that my data will remain secure from the other peeps at my college! That 500 GB harddisk ought to hold all my music and pics so that I can keep my family photos and movies to watch whenever I miss them! Having wireless connectivity will ensure that I can use the WiFi facilities to stay connected and also connect my PDA to stay synchronised! This thing will simply change the way I live, work, play and most importantly it will make my 'Computing' truly 'Personal Again' !! Thank you HP and John Obeto for giving us this amazing oppurtunity and giving me sweet dreams at night that I may one day own this Stylish, powerful and multi-faceted device!

How will the Dragon rock your world?

Well, I come from a family of six. Mother, father, a brother, and a sister. And guess what? I'm the youngest. Being the youngest I would always get hand-me-downs. Of course, I couldn't argue because we can't afford a whole lot. This means I was left with an old Daewoo computer.

Right now I have a 4 years old desktop with Celeron 2.4GHz CPU and a 17" CRT screen that is just not enough for what I use it for.
I have a new video camera and a lot of home videos to edit, but the current machine is just not capable enough - it's just painfull.
I have hundrets of old pictures that I still have to organize and even that is slow on the current machine, not to mention working on 17" CRT in 1024x768 is not exactly enyoyable.
Dragon wuld solve all that a nice big screen would be a dream to work with, RAM and processing power would make video editing a breeze, and the device is even portable so that I could do some work not only behind the desk in the study but also over my new WiFi on my freshly paved terrace.

How the Dragon would rock my world? I've always wanted to be a digital artist, designer and animator ever since i got a hold of my first computer of which im still using today, which is now about 5 years old. I've been doing digital art for a while now and i used to participate on sites such as DeviantArt but have lost interest due to Art Theft. My latest investment into the world of Digital Art was a Wacom Graphire3 6x8 Pen Tablet that cost aprox $180 CAD. I'm looking into getting into BCIT.

Recieving the Dragon would totally rock my world and boost my chances and goals in succeeding as a Digital Artist and Animator. My true career dream is to one day work for game designers such as EA and Square Enix.

I truely hope I win, and the best of luck to the other members in this contest!

With the HPHDX Dragon,I'd be rescued from the dark abyss of boredom and e-isolation, and sucked into the world of high-end computer gaming and blu-ray movies. Never will I be stuck with Johnny Depp scurrying across what looks like my dad's backyard seen through a dirty window, but I would get to envy every bit of sand that falls off Keira Knightley's magnificent toes. Never will I have to battle slow frame rates when I'm 1v1 with that last terrorist; but I'd snipe him before he'd even know it.

The Dragon would turn my world upside down. As well as my wallet. The Ferrari of labtops. From gaming to programming to just sitting back and watching a movie, there are too many ideas to list. I would have to change out those 5400rpm drives though and put in a 10k. Then the Dragon would be breathing fire on all fronts. It would be a dream to win this. No wait, with the dragon, I'm going to make this my primary laptop, use it as a powerhouse for my photo editing (hobbyist photographer) and ALSO return to gaming since my current HP dv5200 isn't strong enough. As a web designer, the Dragon would actually speed up the time used to design mock-ups and implementing them in code! Imagine the number of versions/mockups I can work on all at once with that resolution. I could play Crysis not as a slideshow, but actually as a game with this thing! And get my eyes bleeding at the mercy of those HD blu-ray movies on its 20.1' screen. All I can say is that the possibilities are endless. How often can you say that for a notebook PC? =)

Dragon is one hell of a beast .HP pavilion Hdx has started new era of computers called "Portable Desktop" .Desktops have to definitely keep up pace from being eradicated and It shatters all myths that portable cannot be as powerfull as Desktops. It may be huge in size ,but it does away with all the wire that are associated with desktops. With such a powerful beast the possiblities are endless.

// can finally play crysis which has eluded me for a long time.//:D

Hp has done a remarkable job, by bring out this system , it has the high end features that some one would just dream about it.

I wish more companies would bring this revolution of "portable desktops" and maybe in the near future when the prise become more affordable for the community:),and as they say rest's History
History Chapter 1 : Desktops ;)

Tucked away in my "fabric covered box" most of the time, I would replace my compaq 6510b with a machine capable of keeping me entertained all day. I may even find time to work. Finally, over 1 frame per minute in TF2!I could watch the Blu-Ray movies I got for Christmas because noone in my family knew that it required a different player. How will the Dragon rock my world? Uh, so much it can do for me. I'll finally be able to blog (so many times I just sit on my desk, which is in a different room from my computer, and think, why don't blog for a while, and then think, oh later, when I use my computer), and I'll finally be able to do a podcast (mostly the the same reason). How will the Dragon rock my world? I work from home and take care of the kids. I'm using an aging Dell that my son barfed on. Seriously. I'd finally have a replacement who's keyboard didn't stink! On top of that I'd finally have a PC that can play games again. PC Gaming has simply just outpaced my current video card. The tuners would also be a welcome addition as I could set it up as a second "tv" that the kids can watch so mom and dad can have some time NOT watching Barney.

It will rock it dramatically. It will save me the trouble of moving my HP Compaq PC and 17" LCD screen 330+km back and forth road tripping every couple of weeks which I've been doing over the past year and it's tiresome especially if don't own a car. It's shiny surface, it's beautiful screen!
oh, if i could only touch it. It would play all my movies and games, and we'd share tears of laughter and joy watching Harold and Kumar together over and over. Jason here is my comment from youtube...

This HP would rock my world by allowing me to edit and create DVDs from all of my home videos of my kids from the last 8 years. I tried this on my previous desktop but it wasn't powerful enough. I haven't taken the time with my current desktop (still 4 years old) to see how it would do but will wait and see if I am lucky enough to win this first...Thanks HP, Thoughts Media and Jason for a great contest!!!!

I'd love to have my own pet Dragon, they're so warm an cuddly... except when they get angry. At least this one you can take the battery out before it roasts you alive. I wish I'd thought of that before I lost poor Fluffy. I'll at least be able to use this machine to show a slideshow of Fluffy at her funeral. Oh, and play tons of games and make everyone else jealous.

The Dragon would rock my world by letting me do the photo editing I need without wasting sooo much time letting GIMP process! Plus my max resolution is only 1280x800! HOW CAN I BE EXPECTED TO WORK UNDER THESE CONDITIONS?! If the Dragon had a CF reader it'd be perfect! I'm also a movie and music buff, Blu-Ray, a high-def screen and integrated surround sound would be the perfect compliment to my Z-5500s!
Good Luck to everyone!

An HP Dragon will help me encode DVDs in a couple of minutes using Handbrakes, instead of 15-20 minutes. I am going for a PhD in Distributed Computing in University of
Illinois at Urbana Champaign (UIUC). I currently am learning about MapReduces and use Hadoop and it requires huge computational power. I could have my Hadoop
installation of the master of the cluster on my laptop and code and run at free will. My Unreal Tournament and CounterStrike games will now be mobile and a lot more fun.

"How would the HDX Dragon would rock my world?"

This "laptop" would so far surpass my old Thinkpad that comparing it isn't fair. The old Thinkpad has no USB and a very proprietary PCMCIA port that accepts very few of the cards I have tried, so expansion of it's limited abilities is negligible. The Dragon would be ideal for so many functions, including live presentations for my local PC User's Group.

How would the dragon ROCK my world? Now thats a hard question to answer coz the dragon is gonna rock my world from all sides n angles...

Lemme start by saying that this is a perfect Desktop replacement and much more... firstly the sexy shiny exteriors are just too god to be true...

I was thrilled at seeing the 512 MB Geforce .. now i shall be able to play all the games that have eluded me so far... DOGFIGHTS !! here i come !!

The BlueRay drive is just amazing and it is perfectly complemented by the beautiful 20.1" WUXVGA with HD Resolution... now ill be able to enjoy the movie a lot better ... maybe reclined on my imaginary LAzyBoy... With the Remote in my hand Ofcourse !!!

The processor seems to be very powerful and it would be a breeze editing n uploading my pics and the videos..two more specs that impressed me was the 500 gigs HDD and the 4 gigs of RAM.... not to mention the TV tuner !! its machine is just beyond amazing !!

i would just love to get my hands on one!!! here dragon dragon dragon !!
