Following in the tradition of other "Show Us" threads, let's do one appropriate to Digital Media Thoughts: a picture of your home theatre setup! Big or small, lavish or simple, show us a photo of what your setup looks like.<br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/home-theatre.jpg" /><br /><br />That's what mine is, although it doesn't show up very well in the photo. I have a 51" Hitachi TV, not wide-screen, and not HD. Oh the horrors! I bought it about five years ago, and it's served me well. I'm waiting for the new Samsung DLP to come to Canada, and I'll snatch it up as soon as I get the call. On the left side I have my components: digital cable box, an upgraded ReplayTV that I'll soon be selling, VCR, JVC amp, JVC DVD player, and an Xbox. I'll be re-configuring the whole thing when I get the new TV - the Replay TV will be replaced by a network media player to tap into the video content sitting on my Shuttle ST62K running SnapStream's Beyond TV3. I'll likely be getting the Samsung DVD player that has DVI out, and I doubt I'll bother connecting a VCR. The Xbox will stay, as will the amp.<br /><br />So I've shown you mine - show me yours! :D And in case anyone is curious, the items surrounding the home theatre are dragon sculptures from <a href="http://www.franklinmint.com/category.aspx?SID=2&Category_ID=70&">the Franklin Mint collection</a>.

Here is mine from about a year ago (click to see larger image)...

http://www.tonkinese.net/albums/HDTV/HDTV_2.sized.jpg (http://www.tonkinese.net/gallery/view_photo.php?id=HDTV_2)

Some of the components have changed because little boys have broken them and daddy wasn't smart enought to move them higher.

Few more pics here...

What is there:

On the right, top to bottom:
Fiberoptic lamp
DirecTiVo
Sony ES Receiver 6.1 (can't recall model number)
Sony Receiver (old model drives speakers around the house and outside)
Panasonic LD Player
Sony PS2 (doubled as CD player before HDTV)

On the left, top to bottom:
Marantz Model 1600 turntable
Sony VCR (since replaced by Samsung DVD/VCR)
Sony Dual Tape Deck
Sony 300 Disc CD Changer
Sony 200 Disc CD Changer

Speakers, old but still good Sony 5.1 with subwoofer.

I have speakers around the house in almost every room with a Niles Audio Intellipad Control (http://www.nilesaudio.com/products/Intellipad_Ci_Keypads.html).

Pretty simple setup. DirecTivo for the main unit, Sony GWIII TV (HD ready but no HD yet), ancient Sony DVD player with 5.1 speakers, and a cheapo Walmart special DVD player to handle VCDs and SVCDs (of which we have exactly one, and it has been in the DVD for more than a year).

Oh, and Cooper.

Cool thread Jason!

Here's my setup from about 1 year ago. Missing from the picture is my center channel and I'm not sure why?! Also missing is my Mirage 12" sub (it's hidden in the corner) In the picture are the following items:

NAD t770 Receiver
Sony 36" Trinitron TV
Sony DVD Player
xBox
PSB Alpha's (2 front ones in the picture, 2 rear ones missing, along with my center)
VCR, digital satellite reciever, CD player, tape deck, blah blah blah.

This is the setup from our old house. That cabnet doesn't really fit on any of the walls/rooms in our new house. Plus there is one of those annoying TV holes cut into the wall. I'm working on a nice in-wall speaker setup along with a 'hidden' component setup. I'll try and post a picture once I get my camera back. (I loaned it to my brother. :? )

Here's my home theatre setup: :D

Yes, you saw that right. This my "home theatre setup." That's what happens when you live in a college dorm 6455 km from your house. Bringing stuff with you becomes quite difficult indeed. :)

And in case you are wondering how I watch TV, here's my TV: (sitting on top of the server)

Here's mine:

http://www.intrepidsoft.com/images/DSC00745.JPG

On the left:

An old Panasonic VCR (because you never know)
A Sony Disc Explorer 400 DVD Jukebox (holds 400 DVDs)

On the right:

Digital cable box
JVC TV
Old, original Series 1 TiVo (with mods to 140 hours)

Like to have:

- nice speakers
- another DVD player for rentals (The Sony is nice for storing all your DVDs, but it's a pain to open it up just to play a rental).

A lot of my stuff is a few years (or more) old, but we did finally trade up on a real TV and wall unit earlier this year...we're good for a while...

http://home.comcast.net/~ux4484/dmthread4x6.jpg

New:
Sony 46" Wide Screen
Medion DVD+R/RW burner
Dish Network PVR (100hr)

Old:
Pioneer Receiver (Analog Dolby Surround only...works for me)
Pioneer 25 CD changer
Sony VCR (still gobs of kids tapes)
Apex DVD player (So we can watch while the other is recording something else).
Venturi bookshelf speakers (best speaker investment I ever made).

We ditched our cassette deck about four years back, but I still have my Teac linear tracking turntable and Marantz 2010 Receiver in the basement to rip my old albums that haven't been released on CD yet.

I designed the cabinets for the house we built from scratch.
The benefit to buying the 57" Hitachi is that they have pdf's of each TV with umpteen different measurents - huge asset as the roof was sloped at the rear - but so is the TV.

Rack was from avrack in Sherwood Park (may be out of business now as the site was down last time I checked). Awesome quality and Canadian (Albertan for that matter).

The Russound whole house amp is on the bottom.

I just retired my old Sony DVD player in favour of a new LG DV7832 with plays VCD/SVCD/DVDR/JPEG.

Audio is Energy Take 5's with 10" sub. Room is wired for 6.1 but I need a new amp.

This room took lots of planning. 8)

Waiting for the right time for the new Motorola 6208 HD PVR (ie "on sale")
