I know that the moderator has done this and no doubt others as well. I really need help.

I have my 3125 paired with my Dell Inspiron 6000. I have set the following according to the Cingular.com/support website but I get no connection/log in.

Settings under Advaced Extra initializatioin commands field (modem settings) AT+cgdcnt=1,"IP","isp.cingular"

ON the Laptop I set the Username field to be [email protected] and the Password as CINGULAR1. The dial field is set to *99#.

I set up a session and it initially connects as the StarTrek antenna symbol is replaced with the square E symbol for a few seconds and then the antenna symbol comes back. I then get an error communication on the laptop a few seconds later. It tells me that we failed to connect.

I NEVER get the "opening port, verifying username and pasword, or registering your computer on the network messages that are referred to in the Kris Kumar article on this website.

I have the Toshiba bluetooth stack on my Dell. I do not see any bluetooth modem selections in the phone and Modem options under control panel. There is only the Conexant D110 MDC V.9x Modem (Com3) and the Standard 33600 bps Modem (Com40) listed in the folder. The Com40 modem is the last one added by the Toshiba stack.

I am sorry to be of such trouble but I work for a small not-for-profit and I want to be able to share info from our website when I visit groups attempting to gather much needed funding. I really need to be able to use the phone as a bluetooth modem.

Thanks to ALL who offer assistance. I hope that someone has made this work between a Dell Inspiron laptop and the Cingular 3125 phone.

Your student.....

I haven't used the 3125 as a modem, but when I used to use my 2125. I was using AT+cgdcnt=1,"IP","wap.cingular"

And username and password as [email protected] and CINGULAR1.

Everything else looks okay to me.
