The Mio Explora K70
"Mio made it known late last year that the company was cooking up a mobile handset and it appears as though the Taiwanese GPS company's entrance into the mobile game will indeed be a sexy one." Mio are better known for their DigiWalker series of GPS-equipped handhelds and this is, AFAIK, their first foray into making a phone. It's really not bad for a first effort, with the ubiquitous Qualcomm MSM7201A 528MHz processor, quadband GSM, tri-band HSPA, GPS (of course!), and 3MP camera. The device has a 3.5" QWVGA screen, which is passably large enough for GPS usage, and a slot that accepts micro-SDHC cards for all your maps. No word yet on pricing or availability.

Based on this picture, it may be safe to say that it will not get a 6.5 update. I don't see a Windows button. Not that a Windows button would be a guarantee either.

First phone?
The article says this is Mitac's "first foray into making a phone" - which would come as a surprise to the users of the A701, A702, Lovebird, A501, etc.

I was gonna say... I've been using an A701 for the better part of 2 years now and as a phone it's awesome. As a GPS unit it does a great job as well. The screen size on the A701 might only be 2.8", but it does a fine job.
This device doesn't look like Too big a step up from the A701, it had a Intel PXA270 520 MHz CPU, 64 MB RAM, 128 MB ROM, 240 x 320 pixels, 2.8 inches screen. 1.3mp camera.
Too bad the resolution on the K70 isn't VGA, it has the screen size to support something higher. They dropped the ball on that one.
