I think that it's convenience, at least for me. I nearly always have my iPhone when I'm out and about, and drag along a real camera (I have two Nikons) only when I'm consciously planning to take photos. Same with my FlipVideo camera, I use my iPhone for quicky videos unless I'm planning to record an hour's worth of footage. As for Windows Phone users, they just don't seem to be there in great numbers yet (but wait until Nokia gets Windows on its "world" handsets ...).
