Default 3 Mega Pixel Camera Phones Becoming Common

http://english.chosun.com/w21data/html/news/200407/200407180024.html

"Following Samsung, LG and Pantech & Curitel have also announced the launching of their new 3 million pixel camera phones on Sunday."

Looks like South East Asia is leading the charge for the next generation camera phones with 3 Mega pixel resolution. While in US and Europe we are still waiting for the 1 Mega pixel camera phone wave.

We had earlier announced the launch of the first 3 Mega pixel camera phone by Casio and recently Samsung announced its version. As the camera on the phones get better, their popularity will go up and so will the backlash against them.

I could actually live with a 1 megapixel image if the damn image were of a decent quality! The quality is just so completely horrible still...

I was hoping that MPx220 would become a benchmark for camera phones. But some of the shots that I have seen are not impressive.

I was going to disagree with you on this, because I would like the option to print the pictures on the odd occasion. But, you're right. Until the quality is better, size doesn't really matter. Alright, where's the eraser, I want to change my vote.

Hey, no worries; we all have our own little shortcomings. =)

Well, that's because it's more of a camera than a phone..

It's really hard to tell more about that phoen with that picture. I wish they had a couple shots from the side and stuff. Because, to me, it looks brick-ish. I don't think that's much of a "pocket-able" phone.

Here's another picture. From the sides it looks quite thin. It looks like an older nokia candybar phone, and there are plenty of people still carrying those around. Its runs symbian series 60, and uses a mini-sd card (so its a real smartphone)
