Unhappy Hard Drive vs. Zune

I added a new hard drive to my desktop system and now my Zune won't sync.

Microsoft help suggested I reload the firmware, move the Zune sync cable to another USB port, etc. I was able to restore all my media after the firmware update but plugging it in a second time I get a message that I should use a USB 2.0 port for better performance. All I have are USB 2 and USB 3 ports.

Any ideas? How does another hard drive get the Zune all upset?

Thanks,

Just to be clear, you added an additional hard drive to a working system and didn't replace your existing drive?

Yes, sorry for the late response. I was finally able to get it to work by trying various USB ports (there are 8 on this sys.) and by disconnecting 2 USB drives. I've never been thrilled with the cracked port ID vs driver system designed by Apple for USB. (Yes, Apple designed USB and set up specifications for behavior). This seems to be yet another manifestation of their lack of foresight. (see references to Ping and exposed antennas)

I suppose if I knew exactly which .dlls were associated with the Zune I could clean them off and get it working on the port of my choice.
