Default A Sign of Things to Come? T-Mobile Offers 1st EDGE GPRS Phone

http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000497043697/

"Were hitting this up because we know it doesnt happen very often that T-Mobile gets a new phone, so if youre in the market to trade up that crappy T-Mo handset from ages long past, peep Motos V330, successor to their ever-popular V300. Oddly (and hopefully indicatively) its got EDGE support, so maybe their high(er) speed networks arent totally out of the question for the near future."

I wouldn't normally post on a new T-Mobile cellphone (as monumental as that might be), but in this case, the EDGE GPRS capable Motorola v330 just might be indicative of something greater. Of the major cellphone providers here in the US (Verizon, Sprint, Cingular, T-Mobile), only T-Mo doesn't offer high-speed data. Certainly, T-Mobile can't expect to compete with the big boys much longer with the current pitiful data infrastructure (especially in the enterprise/corporate market where data access requirements grow more important by the day). T-Mobile users curious about this phone can find out more on their phone selection page (though no direct mention is made of EDGE).
