10 Million use Mobile Banking in Korea
"The number of clients using mobile banking in Korea, based on either integrated-circuit (IC) chips or the portable Internet, amounted to just 1.1 million in Dec. 2002. However, the figure surged up to 10 folds in two-and-a-half years as more than 10 million customers use mobile banking-enabled handsets, reports Korea Times. However, there remain some barriers such as security concerns and disputes over standards. Usability, interoperability and security are major considerations in mobile banking."
And how's this going in North America? Is anyone around here using their cellphone to do banking yet? I sure wish I could. Unfortunately, the banks are still not thinking of all the possible ways we could consume their services. Or perhaps they are, but they think we just aren't interested. Either way, it's a sorry state of affairs on in North America.
