The Asus 1215N appears to be one of the first netbooks to offer laptop-class performance for under $500. On the other end of the spectrum, the sub-$300 HP Mini 100e gets four-stars in the K-6 Student category, offering decent performance and long battery life. August's review offers some excellent choices, regardless of your needs.</p>
