It just makes sense. Apple embraces minimalism in design, and having the noise canceling microphone built into the headphone jack makes for a cleaner design. It also gives one less point of entry for dust and moisture. I doubt we'll see this at the September event, only because it makes no sense to put a feature like this on the iPod Touch before it goes into the next iPhone. </p>
