<p>Yeah, yeah, I was too busy to post on this yesterday. ;-) Anyway, 15 years ago Windows 95 was launched. At the time, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/15-years-ago-today-windows-95-launched-2010-8" target="_blank">it was a big deal</a> - and even today, we live in the echoes of the decisions made back then. Some videos below, and an <a href="http://web.archive.org/web/20071214054208/http://weblogs.jupiterresearch.com/analysts/gartenberg/archives/016913.html" target="_blank">interesting bit of trivia</a> about licensing the Rolling Stones song "Start Me Up".</p><p><object width="600" height="360" data="http://www.youtube.com/v/HM0DL5giOBU&amp;feature=player_embedded&amp;ap=%26fmt=18" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/HM0DL5giOBU&amp;feature=player_embedded&amp;ap=%26fmt=18" /></object></p><p><MORE /></p><p><object width="600" height="360" data="http://www.youtube.com/v/1GWQgb015Lc&amp;feature=player_embedded&amp;ap=%26fmt=18" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1GWQgb015Lc&amp;feature=player_embedded&amp;ap=%26fmt=18" /></object></p><p><object width="600" height="360" data="http://www.youtube.com/v/RPcqz3pXQ-w&amp;feature=player_embedded&amp;ap=%26fmt=18" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/RPcqz3pXQ-w&amp;feature=player_embedded&amp;ap=%26fmt=18" /></object></p><p><object width="600" height="360" data="http://www.youtube.com/v/mrq0HQrYN6A&amp;feature=player_embedded&amp;ap=%26fmt=18" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mrq0HQrYN6A&amp;feature=player_embedded&amp;ap=%26fmt=18" /></object></p><p><object width="600" height="360" data="http://www.youtube.com/v/S0_oj-VBW3c&amp;feature=player_embedded&amp;ap=%26fmt=18" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/S0_oj-VBW3c&amp;feature=player_embedded&amp;ap=%26fmt=18" /></object></p>

Windows 95 just didn't make a big splash here: seems like we managed to almost completely skip from Win 3.x to 98.

In fact, can put my hands on machines that STILL will boot up to DOS, Win 3.x, Win98 & 2000 - but don't think we have anything at all that has 95 loaded....
