Every big TV manufacturer out there — Samsung, Toshiba, LG, take your pick — has different ideas about how they can differentiate their products, and there's little incentive for them to cooperate with each other and unify around a single TV platform even, if that's exactly what would be best for consumers. We'll see what the next 12 months brings...</p>
