But I am pretty confident he won't get an iPhone, he's pretty happy with his Jitterbug. Yea, a Jitterbug, but I'm just happy he has a cell phone. &nbsp;</p>

Hee hee! That's my wife! I'm a 58 year old dad/granddad, but I know I'm way atypical of most in my age group. Most folks my age that I know - yeah, that's them!

Haha, good stuff - this is pretty accurate for my in-laws and their iPod Touch. I keep showing them the same things over and over, and they don't get it. That's OK though, that's what geeky son-in-laws are for. :)

My dad used to live in rural Oklahoma and had marginal electric service. When he bought his first (and only PC) so that he could stay in touch with my siblings and I via e-mail, he also bought a UPS at my suggestion. I told him with that, he could leave his computer on making it a lot more efficient for e-mail and other uses, and he did so. A couple of months later, I sent him an e-mail about an upcoming event we were planning. After two days of no answer, I finally called him and asked why he hadn't answered my e-mail. His response: "It isn't Thursday." Say what?!? He went on to explain that he checked his e-mail every Thursday and that wasn't for another couple of days. "But Dad, your PC is running all the time." He continued that checking and responding to e-mail on Thursdays set up a routine that he wasn't likely to forget. A few months later, he gave the PC to my younger sister. Sigh!

Well, that's one way to not let email dominate your life. :D Great story!
