Being that headphone jacks are standardized, has anyone tried using a non-zune AV cable with their zune? IE, would an iPod one work? The reason I ask is Monoprice has some good deals on Zune power cables, but they don't carry an AV cable.

But they have cheap iPod cables and I bet the are actually the same since at least the audio portion would have to be standardized.

I would imagine they would. I have a cable for my video camera but never bothered to try it with the Zune. I might have to give it a whirl.

Just received the cable and it worked like a champ and it was only $2.50!!!!!!

I paid a total of 28.18 including priority mail shipping and got the AV cable, 2 AC adapters (1 for work and 1 for the dock which is getting hooked up to my TV), 1 cig lighter adapter, and 1 synch cable.

I love Monoprice!

Now to see if my Harmony remote can be set to act as the Zune remote!

One small gotcha. The opening on the Zune cradle is a little tight, so the plastic casing on the plug of the cable prevents it from fitting. Nothing that a few minutes with a dremel or an xacto knife won't take care of.

I tried the Zune a/v cable with a iPod video and it worked nicely.

I got the Zune home av kit and I have it attached to my bookshelf system. Its very handy with the remote and the handsome little dock. The Zune sounds great!

The FM transmitter might be a nice piece to have when a set of RCA jacks are not available.
