The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected."</em></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/at/auto/1279982326.usr105634.jpg" style="border: 1px solid #d2d2bb;" /></p><p>And there you have it, the press release in it's entirety. I had to chuckle at the wording about the "more popular iPhone 4 black model" though, how could it not be more popular when it's the only one you have to sell?! So is the delay due to problems getting the color right or is Apple taking this opportunity to re-work the design, what are your thoughts?</p>

I don't think there was any deception intended with the "more popular black model" statement. I think it's likely accurate based upon previous iPhone models.

It might be time to give up on white and try a run of other colors.

There are so many iPhones around... a little color might be exactly what people want. Just nothing outragious. Say, red, blue, green, and a brown one for that one guy who liked the Zune.
