In 1997 Apple was flirting with bankruptcy, and in thirteen (13) years, Steve Jobs has led them to the ranking of the most valuable technology company on the planet with a market capitalization today of about $250 billion. Fortune credits Jobs with changing four industries: music with iTunes, animated films with Pixar, mobile phones (telecommunications) with the iPhone, and mobile (portable) computing with the iPad. Many industry pundits complain about Jobs' dictatorial style, but how can one argue with the success that he's brought to Apple?</p>

Smartest? Maybe. But he's also the most arrogant, taking the crown away from Bill Gates. I guess absolute power does corrupt absolutely.

I have a favorite Steve Jobs story: In winter 2007-2008 I had just left the Apple company store in Cupertino, and was walking thru the parking lot on the way to my car, when a Porsche came blasting around the last parked car at pretty high speed, and came to a halt about 2mm away from me. The tinted driver's side window rolled-down, and out popped Steve Jobs' head. He gave me an angry glare, rolled-up the window, and continued on out of the parking lot. Not many people can say that they were almost run over by Steve Jobs ... silly me for being in the way, I guess!

So yes, smart, a bit arrogant, and the ability to act or react quickly!

Hahaha...wow. That's an awesome story. That's classic Jobs all right. He's the Napoleon of our times. Successful, smart, and hated and feared by most people around him.

That is probably why he wears turtlenecks now...he's been grabbed by the collar so many times by people he's angered that he had to get tactical advantage ! :-)
