The move follows a day of chaotic scenes at computer terminals in five countries yesterday, as iPhone 4 desiring consumers fruitlessly banged their fingers against the keyboard in hope that somehow their pre-order would get through."</em></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/at/auto/1276695651.usr105634.jpg" style="border: 1px solid #d2d2bb;" /></p><p>AT&amp;T isn't the only place where pre-order changes are happening. Over at Apple, when I tried to pre-order a second iPhone, I got a message telling me that they have exhausted their supplies for pre-orders but I could stand in line on a first-come, first-served basis and possibly still get another iPhone 4. Oh, and for shipping, they have <a href="http://9to5mac.com/iPhone-July?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed:+9To5Mac-MacAllDay+(9+to+5+Mac+-+Apple+Intelligence)" target="_blank">moved the date</a> to July 2nd if done online. And UK, Germany and Japan have also reported pre-order glitches.&nbsp;</p>

I had tons of problems with both Apple & ATT -- lots of "OOPS" from apple then it would timeout waiting to comfirm upgrade status with ATT ---

ATT was just flaky got quite a ways in and got to the confirmation page - there was no button to accept or move on -- sat on hold with att for 30+ minutes only to be dropped. Finally got my order in with ATT but the final page ended with an error - so I didn't know if it went thru untill I got the email confirmation about an hour later.

I started working this about 3:30am , Got my daughters order in with Apple about 4:00pm - So it was a successfull but frusterating day!! --

lets see who is better at delivering on the 24th - Apple or ATT...

Here is the link (http://www.zdnet.com/blog/hardware/apple-more-than-600000-iphones-pre-ordered/8649?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+zdnet%2Fhardware+%28ZDNet+Hardware+2.0%29) .... largest preorder in history according to Apple so they obviously weren't prepared

And just think - those pre-orders were only a fraction of iPhone users and probably of upgrade eligible iPhone users.

Imagine how many they could have sold if the servers could have handled all the traffic!
