The measured 20 of the categories they most cared about and declared a winner for each one, so you can kind of match up the categories you care about as well and see which one will suit you better. They gave the Apps category a tie, which seems rather odd to me since you can't even compare the two app stores but they base it on apps being denied and that there is a lot of "crap" in the iTunes App Store. Hmm, maybe so, but at least I know the apps will work correctly on my iPhone. Anyway, you can judge for yourself!&nbsp;</p>

There is a lot of crap in the Android Market as well, including a lot of home themes and apps like Sexy Asian Girls XXIII. Unless you like sexy Asian girls, I guess.

I'll say this: there are some useful apps that come to the Android Market (or get cooked in the device) first, like free Google Navigation, and Google Voice as two examples, but more and more likely, newer apps are out first on the iPhone, and they are often better when Android finally gets them (MLB At Bat is your classic example of that.)

I'm an early adopter Android user. My wife is an early adopter iPhone user.

The days of apps lacking for the Android platform are pretty much over. With the exception of 2 apps that I'm waiting for (Slingbox and Groundspeak Geocaching), which are coming in the next month or two, I have everything I could want on Android. In a lot of instances, the Android app version of the same app on iPhone is more feature rich, due to the menu system built into Android (dedicated button)...you don't lose screen real estate, which deter iPhone developers from implementing the software menu at the bottom of the screen. So yes...I do agree that the Markets are nearly at par. Far cry from a year ago when developers were wondering whether Android was real...I think it's safe to say that it will be sticking around.

For me, if you live in Google Apps for your e-mail, contacts and calendar, Android is the best option. If you are not a savvy technical person, iPhone still wins...my wife and kids (3 and 6) easily use her iPhone. Both are good devices, but I personally prefer Android. I develop for both and Android is definitely my preferred platform for that...much easier.
