Well HTC heard you, and has released a patch. There really isn't much more to say about this, but I think we have some policy here on Thoughts that news needs to be more than one sentence, so I'll use the end of this one just to tell you that the update shouldn't harm your data and should make your ringtones sound awesome!</p>
