According to the <a href="http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1036" target="_blank">update page at Apple</a>, where you can download the update if you don't get it via the Software Update feature on your Mac, the issues include problems with Voice Over and Genius mix stability issues and problems when converting songs to 128 kbps AAC when syncing.</p>

I have to say that this is a great feature that they added in 9.1. I was doing this manually, keeping a master library with high bit rate songs and a syncing library with lower bit rate songs for my Nano. Now I don't have to bother. I'm glad that they added this.
