The Business Side Of Windows Phone 7 Via Office

<p>Most of the talk surrounding Windows Phone 7 has been focused on the UI, hardware and multimedia aspects of the operating system. Lest we forget though, the platform will ship with a mobile version of Office for handling basic tasks on the device.</p><p>Mobility Digest has posted a couple of videos on WinPho 7's business side. The <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHN0vNHyDlw" target="_blank">first is a video</a> showing someone getting a PowerPoint presentation and updating an incorrect percentage in a slide, updating it and sending it on. The <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBMBQNOHzGc" target="_blank">second shows</a> how the new Office Hub works.</p><p>I'll be interested to see more details come out, like how Excel works if there is no copy and paste. A spreadsheet sans copy/paste is like a word processor sans a spell cheker.</p>

No, a spreadsheet without cut-and-paste is like a word processor without cut-and-paste :)
Both aren't nearly as useful as they could be.

I agree with Russ - but I would actually say that a word processor or spreadsheet without c/p is almost useless.

For Office mobile to impress me it needs to be as good as Softmaker Office. Based on where MS is starting from my guess is their latest offering still isn't close.

Ed, how would you say it compares to what Softmaker has had for years?

If you're looking for a Windows Mobile office suite and haven't tried Softmaker Office you have no idea what you're missing. It's an amazing package!
