The only requirement is that, in addition to your primary computer, you also have to own a notebook or a second desktop PC with its own monitor."</em></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com//dht/auto/1271890710.usr20447.gif" style="border: 0px solid #d2d2bb;" /></p><p>I love multiple monitors.&nbsp; I think they offer a great boost in productivity.&nbsp; However, multiple monitors was not always easy to set up.&nbsp; Video cards used to only have one video out port and alternative video cards were difficult to come by.&nbsp; Now, things have changed drastically.&nbsp; Most video cards have at least two display outputs.&nbsp; However, that is not always practical.&nbsp; That is where solutions like MaxiVista come in.&nbsp; There are other solutions available, but MaxiVista has been around a long time, and based on the video that Tom's Hardware provides, its performance is impressive.&nbsp; If you want to try multiple monitors out, this might be a good option, but if you are serious, I strongly suggest going with a true second monitor.&nbsp;&nbsp; Of course, if you want a mobile solution, I could see this work very effectively with two laptops!</p>

At $40 to $100 for the app (more $$ = more functionality), and given the limitations mentioned for it, would expect this to be something of a niche product.

Still, two monitors do appeal to many users: wife uses two for work - and sometimes actually carries a 17" LCD along when working at a remote site - but I find more value in having two SYSTEMS going at the same time (even if one of them is this limited screen size & resolution netbook am typing this note on! - while trying to get a home built desktop up & running in the background..... ).
