The slim profile is partially due to the lack of an optical drive, which honestly, the rise of the netbook has helped a lot of users realize they don't need anyway. So if you've looked at netbooks, but found the screen size and horsepower just a little lacking, this looks like a nice middle of the road for you. Price and availability date still TBD. </p>
