It does make me curious though as to how many sites currently using Flash will adapt in order to work effectively with the iPad. I'm hoping for as many as possible, what are your thoughts on Flash?

I do agree that Flash is a real drain on battery life but so is video in general. I block most flash stuff so it's not much of an issue for me. HTML5 isn't difficult or time consuming to implement for drop in video on a web page but gaming sites that requires it is another matter.

In the context of battery life, GPU decoded h.264 playback is almost as efficient as moderate web browsing (well, relative to CPU intensive stuff like flash video).

I personally dislike flash because of not only the CPU usage and crashing, but because of all the obnoxious adds that play sound. So I too run browser plugins to block it.
