I'm nearly certain this tactic will sell more phones!

iPhones, that is. ;)

I bet we'd be surprised to find out exactly how many loyal Microsoft employees own an iPhone -- all in the name of "research." ;)

I'm just about as big a fan of Microsoft as I've ever been and have absolutely no desire to ever own a Mac computer, but c'mon... It's pretty difficult to ignore a product that's so good at doing what it does, how I want it done and when I want it done (speaking of the iPhone specifically).

FWIW, though, I DO think I would also be a little embarrassed to plop open an iMac at such a session that has such a strong PC focus.

"I'm Brad and I'm a PC...(whatever THAT means)."

Microsoft: ignore that German guy in the corner. (http://arstechnica.com/microsoft/news/2009/12/microsoft-sure-you-can-use-apple-products-at-our-events.ars?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=rss).

Microsoft has cleared the air on a poorly translated quote by confirming that people have always been able to, and are still allowed to, use Apple products at their events. The source of the misinformation was supposedly a representative at a Windows Mobile 6.5 demonstration in Munich, Germany and the statements resulted in stories saying Microsoft does not allow the mention or use of Apple products at its events. "While we've been unable to confirm the specific exchange, it would not reflect our overall company policy and business practices," a Microsoft spokesperson told Ars. "Reporters and analysts are free to use whatever technology they wish in covering any Microsoft event, and always have been."

I'm sure MS's release will be seen as backpeddling and spin control, but really. I suppose none of you know any over zealous employees that make rash, unwarranted, unsanctioned remarks that no more reflect the corporate philosophy than commercials reflect reality.
