I would use these with my HTC Fuze and 16 GB microSD, which has pretty good sound compared to some other devices I have owned. I currently use an inline remote control that allows me to connect any headphones with a 3.5mm jack. I used to own a set of Shure SE110's (I think) and they were the best in-ear cans I have used to date so the SE210's, I can only assume would sound even better.

Like OMG, I'll use these on my ipod touch, sony walkman phone, and Hp DV1000 laptop. A set of shure headphones would be nirvana. My first set of headphones for DJ work back in the 80's was a pair of Shures.

I have 16 GB of lossless music on my Omnia. FLAC encoded music played by Core Player makes this phone a great audio player, on good earbuds or patched into an audio system with speakers.

I already use a set of Sony noise cancelling earbuds on planes with this, but I own a pair of Shure in-ear monitors and Beyer Dynamic DT-990 headphones.

What would I use them with? Why, my Zune HD, of course!

I have one good pair of headphones that I use when I want to get the best from my music. I use them with everything they fit. I won't mention the make but they are far better than any that I've bought bundled with the devices I have. It's well worth the investment in my opinion. My old iRiver mp3 player seems to benefit the most from my 'best' headphones. It seems odd, even with the advances that must have occurred between when I bought my iRiver 6 or 7 years ago and 18 months ago when I bought an iPOD Nano III, that the older device sounds better to. I suppose it's a matter of taste, much like vinyl versus CD.
Anyway, I'd advise anyone to buy one high quality pair of headphones and to use them with whatever device they are using. Actually, I'd advise trying to win a pair before buying. I prefer the noise isolating design but they are not for everyone. Save the bundled headphones for when taking a bath or any other risky operation.

I am a university student near Toronto, and I take a bus to school everyday. This is where the majority of my listening takes place, and I would use the headphones on my 1 hour journey (one way) with my black Zune 80. I would also use it very often with my IBM ThinkPad laptop.

I use full sized cans and a "Total Bithead" around the house, but also spend hours per day mobile and judging by the reviews, these would be bumping out my V-Moda Vibes that get hooked up to the Bithead/Sony NWZ-S639F combo. (P.S. The Bithead is an absolute steal at $99 til Christmas over at Head Room (http://www.headphone.com/headphone-amps/amplifiers/headroom-total-airhead.php) where these phones also get a great value rating.)

...use it with my green 4GB 3rd-gen Zune that my sister gifted me 15 days before the Zune HD launch. She is a doctor and is essentially unaware of technology :-)

Anyway, the bundled earphones look kinda nice but they aren't too ear-friendly and the covers keep slipping off, being lost etc. (fortunately, Microsoft provides three pairs in box). I wanted to get the Zune premium earphone but missed the Black-Friday deal.

I would use these fine headphones with my Zune 120.

Well, except when I'm driving and I put my Zune in my home dock that I've zip-tied to my "not an ashtray" tray with a car power adapter to the USB and a tape adapter to the audio out on the dock. Why hasn't anyone made a proper Zune car dock??? My home dock actually works nicely in the role so it wouldn't be hard to make them into car docks.

What do you have to do to win? Simply post a message in this discussion thread telling me which type of device (or devices) you'd use the headphones with. A Windows Mobile smartphone? A Zune? An iPod? An iPhone? A netbook or laptop?

HTC HD2, Gigabyte Touchnote and an Archos 5 is what I would be plugging these headphones into. :)

My older Shures are (finally) starting to frey a bit. I'll use these on my Zune 120 - they work great blocking the sound of the snowblower while ckeaning those new england snow storms, and they are a lot more dependable (and pleasant) than the teenagers that should be clearing the driveway instead of me.

I'll use them indoors on my HP widescreen laptop while I warm up watching DVD's.

I would use them with my beloved Rockbox'ed iPod Video (5th generation)! :)

Currently I use a pair of Sony Ericcson mobile phone earphones that I found in a supermarket car park on the ground, which I then soldered a new wire onto to make it long enough (it originally required one of those handsfree mike adaptors) and then "modded" further with better foam earplugs stolen from some spares kits that came with some bluetooth headsets.

They also come complete with sticky tape holding them together where their plastic backs are falling off. :)

I have used this "rig" for nearly 3 years now, since the 'phones before these ones got mangled by airport security.

Some nice new Shure headphones would really make my Christmas - it's been a pretty bad year for me overall :(

Cheers for this awesome competition - I've quietly read this family of sites long after the end of my Axim days. :D

OK, incredibly, NONE of the three winners got back to me within 72 hours - in fact I gave them an extra day - so I'm going to draw for three new winners. The new winners are...

Lucy
Cold Flame
mmidgley

These winners have 72 hours to respond and claim their prize (Tuesday night), or I'll be drawing ANOTHER three.

This is why it's critical to turn on email notifications of private forum messages, just like I stated in the contest post. ;)

This is why it's critical to turn on email notifications of private forum messages, just like I stated in the contest post. ;)

Woohoo! Thanks Jason! Coincidentally, it was my birthday this week (Dec. 15th) and with Xmas coming right up, it's a perfect time for me to win! =) Thanks to Jason, and SHURE! I can't wait to try them out. PM has already been sent!

I'm stunned yet again that two of the three winners I picked in the second round didn't get back to me. Doesn't anyone want these expensive headphones???

I've re-drawn two of the names (since Cold Flame claimed his prize), and the two new winners are:

asims
geneb

Both have been contacted via forum private message, and they have 72 hours to get back to me or I'll draw again...

Jason,

Maybe you should change the contest around; if anyone is still following the contest, tell us to send you a pivate message. The first two to respond get the remaining headphones!

I know, I know- fat chance of that happening (But it was worth a shot :D)

Merry Cristmas & Happy New Year!

I've had to draw again for two new winners:

cmchavez
airsurfer

The winners have been notified via private message and have 72 hours to respond and claim their prize.

Please, for the love of all that's holy, don't make me draw again...

As much as I'd like to do that, I'm trying to stick to the rules of the contest as I originally set them up. The next contest I do, however, I might throw in a "round two wildcard" option. :D

Heck no, this is much more entertainning! At this rate I'll have good enough odds to win the 10th redrawing in time for my birthday in February ;)

Happy New Year!

Hey, Jason, if I missed my opportunity to contact you within 72 hours, does that mean my name goes back into the hat for a chance to be drawn again?

Yes - only the people who claim their prize are excluded from winning in this contest again.

OK, I didn't hear back from the last winner I'd chosen, so it's time for something different:

The first person to post a reply to this message in this thread, and to send me a private message with their name and shipping address, will win the last pair of headphones.

Let's see how long this takes... :D

I'm replying! I'll use them with my Compact V (a windows phone). Sending private message now...

P.S. It took 6 hours and 20 minutes (and I'm happy to acknowledge a time-zone advantage).

And the last pair of headphones goes to martin_ayton (http://forums.thoughtsmedia.com/members/martin_ayton/).

I just couldn't bear to draw another random name and have that person not claim their prize :(, so that's why I went with this "first come" approach.

Next contest, I'll specify up front that I'm only doing one round of random drawing, then it will be some sort of "are you paying attention to this contest" type action. :D

Thanks again for the great headphones Jason. I've been using them for about a week now, previously my general use favorites have been a pair of in-ear bass boosting headphones from Phillips. The difference in sound quality is remarkable; while I do listen to music tracks on my iPod, I also listen to many podcasts throughout my regular workday. Especially with the music related shows, the sound quality from these headphones is comparable to 256 kbps tracks that I've ripped myself on iTunes.

The sound isolation properties are excellent as well. After trying out the various earpiece cushions to see which ones worked best, I finally settled in with the spherical rubber ones that I felt gave the best "seal" for blocking out external noise. I tried them out while watching my oldest son during one of his Irish Hardshoe classes; while I could still hear the sounds of his dance steps on a hardwood floor, it did not overwhelm the audio from some Armin Van Buuren tracks I was listening to at the same time. I have been able to reduce the volume that I listen to tracks also, but nothing like the levels that were purported in an online review of the same headphones.

They are as sturdy as reported and the included carrying case is a welcome addition also. My only minor quibble is that personally I would have preferred to have an "L" shaped connector on the cord that plugs into my iPod, but I can probably find a suitable cord online. At least the two piece design of the cords for these headphones makes that an option.

My rating out of 5 stars would be a 4.5 overall; if you are in the market for a new pair of headphones, I'd highly recommend these!
