Having a panic attack while on an airplane, or not being able to even board a commercial flight because of fear, are both more common than most people would imagine. One solution is to learn how to relax, and to become knowledgeable about the sights, sounds, and feelings of flying."

My mom always said a strong screwdriver (the drink not the tool) worked wonders for her before she flew. But if you want to avoid alcohol in your quest to conquer your fear of flying, this may at least start you in the right direction. Granted, it doesn't have all the help that the UK class Virgin offers for those afraid of flying has, but maybe it is all you need. The app is $4.99 USD in the iTunes store, which is close to the price of a stiff drink, but you would get repeated use out of the app versus the liquor so the app is probably a better option.
