Blue tooth upgrade?

I have just bought a new car and the blue tooth in my ATT Tilt (HTC Tytn II) cannot be seen by the car nor does my phone see the car. Is there an update, and where do you find it for Blue tooth?

Without intending to cover the overly obvious, but does the car bluetooth system have an "On" button?
Reason for asking is that have helped several Notebook users who complained about Broken Built-in Wifi, only to find out that Wifi was Turned Off on their systems....

Would also recommend borrowing someone else's bluetooth capable phone & see whether that phone "sees" the system in your car.

Could also try searching some of the Automotive sites - under your brand / model - to see whether other car owners are reporting similar problem (and perhaps a solution...:) )
