But nope, it's from Samsung and it's in the Ommia line. Haven't seen a ton of Windows Mobile Standard devices lately so I'm glad there's still a market. The specs are pretty nice. Wtih 3G, WiFi, and GPS, what more does one really need? It also includes a nice camera and Windows Mobile 6.5. Is there still a place for Windows Mobile devices that don't have a touch screen?</p>

I don't see the 3.5mm jack. Would Samsung be so foolish as to drive people away yet again?

It is nice to see further development of the Std platform, but at least improve upon previous versions on the hardware side.

As someone who's not sold on the whole touchscreen thing I may have to look into Blackberry if the WinMo stalls out or regrettably is dropped.

I would say absolutely yes. Its a shame that there aren't more articles out there taking them seriously.

I would very much like to see discussions about how a Blackberry compares to a Samsung Jack. Keyboard, OS, and available apps.

Everyone seems to take pleasure in bashing the Pro OS though.

I am glad that I went from a Touch Dual to a Samsung Jack. Its probably the best WM phone that I've had to date.

I am with you. I believe WM Standard is a better, more complete solution when compared Blackberry. I am using a Motorola A4500/Q9Napoleon tied to a hosted exchange server.

WM Standard has always seemed much more solid to me. I never had a Standard device crash on me.

It can also be easier to use, with all the keypad support and shortcuts, and simpler menus.

And it's terrific, one-handed :)

Yes, I think there is still room for non-touch screen WinMo Standard.

One of the WinMo Standard features I use the most is the automated profiles, where it can switch ring modes based on appointments present on the calendar. I cannot understand why that is missing from WinMo Pro versions.

On the other hand, WinMo Standard does not allow to set categories for calendar entries. I cannot understand why that is missing. I also don't understand why Notes is missing in WinMo Standard, though that was remedied for me by a third party product.

I use a Moto Q9m, and previously used a Samsung SCH-i730, so I have used both touch and non-touch versions.

I prefer the non-touch version, but not by much. It's mostly the automated profile switching that wins me over.

WinMo STD wins, hands down for me! One handed wonder.
I keep going back to Pro to give it a try and see how it's progressed. Latest attempt was with an Epic. Even loaded various UI's on it, and still I find it cumbersome to use. Honestly, not much has changed since 2003!!!
Standard is so stable, reliable, has many apps available etc, it's something I really hope does NOT go away.......Now on a Dash 3G. Works VERY well with the 3G and processor speed combined. Will NEVER own a WM Pro device again!!!!
